Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 – The Axis of the Final Defense

The Heartbeat of the World

The moment Rob crossed the threshold into SS level, something deep within the planet changed. It wasn't an earthquake. It wasn't a visible explosion. It was an invisible, yet powerful heartbeat. A pulse that spread across the Earth as if existence itself acknowledged him. And with that pulse… the world awakened.

The Overflowing Energy

Energy sensors in every bastion reported the impossible.

ALERT: Earth's energy density has increased by 330%Cause: SS Level Unlocked – User: ROB

The skies momentarily cleared. The ground vibrated in harmonic rhythm. And human bodies… began to change.

The New Threshold of Humanity

Survivors around the world felt the surge. Even if most couldn't understand what was happening… they felt it in their bodies.

Strength. Endurance. Mental clarity. A sensation that their limits were no longer the same.

The Survival System confirmed it with a global message:

[BASE DENSITY UPDATED ALL HUMANS EXCEED LEVEL D ASCENDING TREND TOWARD LEVEL C]

Alan explained in La Paz's command room:

"Rob's energy didn't just change his body…It changed the planet. Now, everyone can reach at least level C as a baseline—if they train properly."

Victoria frowned.

"And what does that mean?"

Alan took a deep breath.

"That humanity will no longer be the same. And neither will its lifespan."

He projected the new table:

Level C: 150 years

Level B: 200 years

Level A: 250 years

Level S: 350 years

Level SS: 400 years

Level SSS: 500 years

Below C: max life expectancy of 100 years

"Longevity will be real," said María. "But only if we survive what's coming."

The System's Message

One last alert reached all Guardians:

[WARNING Planetary density still insufficient for manifestation of SSS-Rank entities Projected threshold fulfillment: 365 days]

Silence.

And then:

[AVAILABLE TIME FOR GLOBAL PREPARATION: ONE YEAR RECOMMENDATION: Train abilities, energy, physical endurance, mental strength, leadership, and cooperation on a planetary scale]

Rob, the First

From atop a mountain peak, Rob heard the echo of the system resonating in his soul. He understood what it meant. He hadn't won.He had only bought time.

"One year…" he murmured.

"To prepare everyone. To build a wall… with the hands of every human."

"Because if we don't…"

"The next roar will crush us all."

Humanity Responds

From the most remote corners of the planet, signals began to emerge:

– In Nigeria, a group of orphaned youths awakened with level C abilities without prior training.– In Mongolia, nomadic shepherds who had never set foot in a city felt their bodies strengthen spontaneously.– In Greenland, an elderly woman watched her paralyzed grandson stand up with tears in his eyes.– And in the forgotten neighborhoods of South America… hunger persisted, but hope ignited like wildfire.

For the first time in a long while, humans began to believe… that they could actually win.

The La Paz Summit

At South America's central base, all the leading Guardians were gathered:

Alex (USA)

Thea (France)

Lee Ming (China)

Nikolav (Russia)

Hana Mizuno (Japan)

Mohammed (India)

Ali (Egypt)

They sat across from Rob—not as equals… but as those who knew he had gone further than all of them.

"There's no time," said Rob bluntly. "We have one year before SSS-ranked beasts can manifest. If we don't prepare humanity, they'll die just by being near them."

The Birth of the Global Council

"I propose the creation of the Global Coordination Council," Alan said, projecting a 3D hologram."A planetary support and surveillance network, trained by high-level Guardians, with command centers in seven key regions."

María added: "And with it, we'll implement the Vital Expansion Program, to prepare the entire population in physical, energetic, psychic, and skill-based resilience."

Rob nodded.

"We will no longer fight alone. We will no longer be an isolated group. We're going to turn Earth… into a fortress."

Strategic Division

The seven regions were defined:

South America (La Paz, main base) – led by Rob

North America – led by Alex

Europe – led by Thea and Nikolav

Central & East Asia – led by Lee Ming and Hana

Africa – led by Ali

Middle East & South Asia – led by Mohammed

Oceania & South Pacific – still without clear leadership (local Guardian needed)

Rob stood.

"I didn't choose to be this. But I am.And I won't let humanity fall while I still have strength to lift it."

The others looked at him… And one by one, nodded.

In that moment, a new pact was sealed:

"The world would not bow to monsters. Not this time."

What Cannot Be Seen… Already Touches Us

The Sky Is No Longer the Same

The observatory in Quito, Ecuador, was the first to notice it. Then the same pattern repeated in South Africa, Finland, and New Zealand.

"The stars… are rearranging," said an astronomer on the verge of panic. It wasn't that they were moving. It was that the human brain could no longer recognize them the same way.

The First Contact

In an underground shelter in India, twelve people fell asleep at the same time. And awoke with bloodshot eyes, screaming in an impossible language. One died within minutes. Others began to speak in dead tongues. One of them… vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a void of energy.

The message they left before collapsing was captured by a background mic:

"You must not remember them… You must not name them… Because if they know you see them… they will come."

Reactions in the Bastions

In France, Thea felt a tightness in her chest while training.

"There's something… breathing from the other side. And it's trying to come in."

In Egypt, Ali watched an invisible rift open briefly in a sealed chamber.

"We didn't see it… but I'm sure it saw us."

At the La Paz base, Rob stopped as he walked the halls.A whisper, nearly imperceptible, touched his mind:

"Who will you protect… when your mind is no longer your own?"

Final System Warning

Hours later, the Survival System projected an unprecedented alert:

[DIMENSIONAL INTRUSION DETECTED SSS-RANK ENTITIES IN PRE-MANIFESTATION STATERISK OF COLLECTIVE MENTAL ALTERATION]

And it added:

[Time Remaining Until Full Contact: 357 Days Mental Emergency Status: ACTIVATED]

The world began to reinforce not just its weapons… but also its minds.

Because the next creatures would not kill with claws. But with ideas. With whispers. With presences that shouldn't exist. And only the strong… would endure.

The Emergency Room in La Paz

Rob, Alan, María, and the main Guardians were analyzing real-time data.

"They're not just trying to come through," said María. "They're… inhabiting other people's thoughts."

She showed a map where mental anomalies had begun appearing: People repeating impossible phrases, drawing symbols on walls without knowing why, and even manifesting new abilities… without going through the system's usual process.

"Possessed?" Nikolav asked, serious.

"Infected," Alan replied. "By ideas that don't belong to this dimension."

The Global Fortress Program

"We can't fight dreams with swords," said Rob, standing at the center of the room."So we're going to reinforce everything."

The proposal was projected:

GLOBAL FORTRESS PROGRAM

An intensive one-year plan to raise the physical, mental, energetic, and emotional level of all humans.

It includes:

Mandatory basic physical training

Guided meditation with expert Guardians

Activation of latent abilities

Development of psychic resistance

Encoded reading of intrusion patterns

Formation of special anti-psionic units

"We want to prevent people from breaking before the war," Thea added.

"But also… from becoming pawns without knowing it."

The Most Dangerous Rift

Lee Ming raised his voice, his tone grim.

"And if there are already infiltrators…What happens if one of them already holds a position of power?"

Silence.

"Then… it would be internal betrayal without realizing it," said Alex.

Rob stared at the global hologram. His eyes paused over the zones that were too quiet, too stable, too obedient.

"It's not paranoia. It's logic. Someone has already been touched."

The Core of the Strategy

Rob raised his voice:

"We have 357 days left.We can't save everyone… But we can give them a real chance. Every bastion will be a temple and a fortress. Every child, an apprentice. Every adult, a potential fighter. Because this war… will no longer be between species. It will be between dimensions."

While millions of people began to train,to concentrate, to believe they could become more…

In a dark room, somewhere in the world,a faceless man stared into a mirror and murmured in a lost language:

"Thank you for strengthening them...I want them nice and ripe… when I harvest them."

Seeds of strength, shadows of chaos

The World Begins to Move

From La Paz, Rob delivered his first official global message as a Transcendent Guardian. His voice echoed through every terminal, screen, and device connected to the system.

"I wasn't born with this power. I earned it—fighting, losing… and trying again. You can too.We won't fight alone. We will fight as a species. As humanity."

Images of Hope

At an improvised base in Morocco, children trained with wooden sticks, imitating the Guardians' movements.

In Ukraine, women and the elderly practiced meditation in circles guided by soldiers with mental abilities.

In Korea, Yun-Seok—now watched and watchful—taught young people how to protect their minds from intrusions.

In Canada, Yvette built mental shelters for those who couldn't yet withstand the voices.

Both of them were put under forced labor due to the critical situation in the world, the trial was postponed until this crisis passes.

Even in the forgotten corners, something had changed: Humanity was no longer giving up.

Failed Manifestation

But not everything was light.

On an uninhabited island in the Pacific, without warning, the air solidified. All fauna died instantly. And a barely visible rift vomited part of a formless creature.

It had no body.It was sound, scent, memory, and presence—simultaneously.

Satellites captured the collapse of local reality. The ground melted.Time bent. The island… disappeared.

Immediate Response

Rob felt the pulse from thousands of kilometers away.

"Was that… an incomplete manifestation?" María asked in horror.

Alan nodded.

"And it was enough to erase an entire territory."

The system issued a new alert:

[SSS ENTITY – PARTIAL APPEARANCE DETECTED PROBABILITY OF EARLY INCIDENTS: 12% AND RISING]

Rob stepped out onto the balcony of the La Paz base. He gazed at the starry sky. He no longer searched for enemies. He felt them.

And he murmured:

"Now I understand…The year they gave us wasn't a gift.It was a damn countdown."
