While Tony and Blaine were still bickering, the bearded leader of the terrorists finally couldn't sit still anymore.
When he first received the notification that someone had infiltrated, he actually wasn't too concerned.
After all, it was just one person. Could a single person really wipe them all out?
But it turned out it was really true.
According to intel, the intruder was immune to bullets and even rocket launchers, and was heading straight for Tony Stark's location without showing any interest in anything else.
Any terrorist who tried to stop him would die on the spot. The only ones who survived were the ones Blaine didn't even bother to look at.
The bearded leader didn't have that many men to begin with, and after sending several batches, they were almost completely wiped out. It wasn't technically a full sweep, but it might as well have been. How could he possibly stay calm? How was he supposed to fight such a one-man army now?
And since the intruder had no interest in anything else — not even the weapons — it was obvious that he was here to rescue Tony Stark.
Damn it!
Military?
Or some other organization?
When did such a terrifying guy pop up?
His men could die — that didn't matter — but Tony Stark absolutely couldn't be rescued!
Tony's value was far greater than a bunch of terrorist grunts, comparable to a national leader in importance.
The bearded leader immediately grabbed a rocket launcher, gathered the few remaining terrorists, and rushed toward Tony's location.
He had already called for reinforcements from other terrorist groups in the Middle East. Right now, the only thing he could do was stall for time against this terrifying man!
Meanwhile, Blaine and Tony had reached an agreement.
Tony posted a mission:
[Request Blaine to spare his life.
Reward: 50 million dollars.]
Blaine gladly accepted.
Compared to the original 10 million, 50 million was a no-brainer — even an idiot would know which one to pick.
"Goodbye." Blaine waved his hand casually.
"Bye-bye~~~!"
Tony let out a long, relieved sigh, though he still couldn't help mentally criticizing Blaine's professionalism.
At least he was still alive.
"If you need me next time, just call me — my number is on it!"
Blaine tossed Tony a very crude, homemade business card, waving as he walked away, leaving Tony with a carefree and unrestrained figure.
Since the mission was completed, there was no reason to stay any longer.
Tony froze slightly, his smile stiffening.
Who the hell would want to run into you again?
Encountering a Bounty Hunter like that — you were either the one being hunted, or you had to hunt someone else. If it was the later, you didn't need to think much. If it was the former, it meant something had gone horribly wrong.
Either way, he didn't want to experience it again!
Although he cursed in his heart, Tony still reluctantly picked up Blaine's extremely simple business card.
[Bounty Hunter]: Contact Number and Account Number.
Watching Blaine leave, Tony and Dr. Yinsen finally breathed a long sigh of relief, collapsing to the ground, exhausted and unwilling to move.
Just then—
Da-da-da
Da-da-da
Da-da-da
Extremely dense footsteps echoed.
Tony and Dr. Yinsen shot to their feet, exchanging a glance and immediately realizing something bad was coming.
They were done for!
Sure enough, just as they feared, one terrorist after another poured into the room, all aiming their weapons at Tony and Yinsen.
AKs, rocket launchers — you name it.
"Put your hands up!" Tony didn't dare to even think about resisting.
Inwardly, he was already close to crying.
Damn it.
How could he have forgotten about this?
Earlier, he had been so focused on Blaine's threat that he had forgotten all about the other terrorists.
Why didn't he ask Blaine to get him out too?!
He could have just posted another mission!
Even if he had to spend another few million, it wasn't like it would bankrupt him!
Now he was truly screwed.
The bearded leader shoved aside the terrorists surrounding Tony and Yinsen, squinting as he stared at them.
Why wasn't Tony rescued?
He didn't dwell on the question for long — the top priority now was to leave this place.
Someone had infiltrated and disappeared — even if Tony was still here, it wasn't safe to stay any longer.
They had to relocate if they wanted Tony to keep working on weapons.
"Take them away! Move the base!"
At the leader's command, a bunch of burly men rushed up, smashing the butts of their rifles against Tony and Yinsen and dragging them away from the base.
This was extremely bad for Tony. His armor research was nearly complete, but if they moved, he would have to start all over again, which would mean days of extra work.
Before losing consciousness, Tony had only one thought left:
Damn it, hard mode just turned into hell mode. Rhodey, hurry and save me!
