Chapter 15 - Ethics

Blaine was slightly stunned.

Twenty million?

To be honest, he was a little tempted.

That's an extra ten million, but...

"I am a Bounty Hunter. I have professional ethics!"

Blaine waved his hand solemnly, though the bow in his hand had already slowly lowered.

Tony's pupils shrank slightly. He felt a glimmer of hope rising in his heart.

However, at that moment—

Hurried footsteps echoed.

Damn it, more terrorists?

Blaine frowned slightly. Damn it, if you're going to come, why not all at once? One batch after another, how annoying!

Tony wasn't stupid either. He quickly found a place to hide.

What followed was Blaine's time to show off.

This time, there were ten terrorists.

In just three minutes, he wiped out the entire squad. Because the place was small, it inevitably turned into close combat.

Although Blaine hadn't formally studied martial arts, his strength was five times that of an ordinary person. Coupled with the buffs from his Hunter suit, making him practically bulletproof, dealing with these normal humans was simply too easy.

It was simple and brutal — once he got close, one punch could crush a skull. He even showed off some throwing knife skills.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh.

Bang bang bang.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh.

Tony and Dr. Yinsen huddled behind their research equipment, feeling bullets graze right past their scalps, cold sweat pouring down.

If they had died earlier, it wouldn't have mattered. But now that the escape plan was already in its later stages, dying at this point would be a huge loss.

They finally understood why Blaine could break in here alone to kill Tony.

He was basically invincible to bullets and blades, absolutely domineering. He looked like an assassin—well, technically he was an assassin—but practically speaking, he was a tank in assassin clothing. Truly merciless.

At the same time, Tony secretly thanked himself for not trying to fight back.

He had thought about ambushing Blaine earlier, but now? Ambush? He didn't even have a gun. At this point, trying to ambush him would've been pure suicide.

After clearing out this batch of terrorists,

Blaine turned around. But before he could say anything, Tony quickly shouted:

"Thirty million—no—forty million! Just don't kill me!"

"No! I am a man of professional ethics!"

Blaine said righteously on the surface, though inside, his little heart was trembling slightly.

Forty million... maybe it wasn't much to Tony.

In both his past and present life, he had never seen so much money.

And with so much money, how many abilities could he buy?

Maybe he can even beat the Thanos sensless?

Maybe not outright defeat, but at least he could stand on equal footing, right?

Tony was truly a moneybag.

Listening to Blaine's righteous speech,

Tony's heart also trembled, but not from excitement. His tremble was more... fearful.

Was he, the great Tony Stark, really going to die here today?

Oh no!

However, at that moment, Blaine's voice sounded again:

"Unless—"

The moment Tony heard that word, his spirit revived. His eyes widened:

"Unless what? Whatever it is, I'll agree!"

His heart had jumped into his throat.

No matter how good his manners were, he couldn't help wanting to curse.

Damn it, talking halfway and leaving people hanging like this is pure torture!

Pure torture!

"Unless you issue me a task." Blaine thought carefully.

He was curious: if Tony issued him a "different" type of task, would it still count as a bounty mission? Would he still get paid?

"This is the professional code of a Bounty Hunter!"

Hearing Blaine's solemn words,

Tony couldn't help but mentally complain:

You call that professional ethics?

Bro, your face is thicker than my leather shoes!

Of course, he didn't dare say that out loud. He just cursed inwardly.

In the end, Tony held up five fingers.

"Fifty million! Mr. Hunter, I'll pay you fifty million dollars to issue a task: spare my life!"

Blaine laughed inwardly but kept a calm, serious expression:

"I accept your mission."

Had he just found a loophole in the system?

In the future, whenever he got a kill order, he could first check if the target had money. If they did, he could have them issue a task to spare their own life.

Damn, making money like this was unbelievably easy. Absolutely delicious!

As for professional ethics?

What the hell was that?

Bounty Hunter.

Bounty comes first, Hunter comes second.

Thus, bounty was his only professional code. Everything else was just fluff.
