The first to regain his senses was the Lizard Hunter. He realized that he had completely underestimated the strength of his opponent, but the situation was already too far gone to correct.
He saw Minori, standing not far ahead, exposed and calm.
The Lizard Hunter's eyes flashed red. His speed didn't decrease; in fact, it only increased as he charged toward Minori.
The summoned creature was still high in the sky, and the evil wolf monster was nowhere to be seen. This was the perfect opportunity!
Once this human was defeated, the summon would vanish along with him.
"Die, outsider!"
"This swamp will be your grave!"
The Lizard Hunter gripped his axe tightly, roaring as he charged forward.
Minori chuckled. "You must be their leader, right? I've been waiting for you, my friend."
Friend?
The thought crossed the Lizard Hunter's mind. What was this human thinking? Was he scared silly?
But despite his confusion, the Lizard Hunter's hands were swift. He raised his axe, preparing to strike.
"All races are charmed."
Minori's voice rang out, calm and resolute.
The Lizard Hunter froze mid-swing. His body locked in place, immobilized by the enchantment.
Minori smiled. "Help me take care of your companions. Remember to leave some breath." He waved at the Lizard Hunter.
The Lizard Hunter nodded, turned around, and with a new sense of direction, he resumed swinging his axe at the other lizardmen.
The sounds of angry roars and screams filled the air as the Lizard Hunter made his way through his tribe's warriors.
In the meantime, the Fire Archangel descended once more, hovering beside Minori.
"Is this all of them?" Minori asked the Fire Archangel as he observed the surroundings. He hadn't sent the creature into the sky just to drop the lizardmen; he was scanning the area for any hidden threats.
A growl from the shore interrupted him. The evil dog dragged three more lizardmen, barely able to breathe, toward Minori.
The dog placed them in front of Minori, its expression almost eager.
"Good job." Minori praised, summoning a magic sword into his hand. With a swift movement, he struck, slashing the throats of the three lizardmen.
Blood spurted as the creatures fell to the ground.
"Experience gained: 321"
"Experience gained: 309"
"Experience gained: 315"
"Is it similar to an ogre's strength? Definitely a sub-human race." Minori mused, surprised at the strength of these creatures.
Meanwhile, the Lizard Hunter continued cutting through his tribe's warriors, dragging their bodies to Minori.
"What are you doing? Boss!"
"You betrayed the tribe."
"Master Huntsman, wake up!"
The voices of pain and anger echoed through the swamp as the injured lizardmen cursed their betrayer.
With a dismissive wave, Minori swung his magic sword again.
In a matter of moments, all but the Lizard Hunter were dealt with, leaving 15 lizardmen dead and another 4680 experience points in Minori's tally.
"Thank you for your hard work. Now, tell me about the four great treasures of your lizardmen." Minori looked at the Lizard Hunter, curiosity in his eyes.
However, the answer he received was far from what he hoped for. The Lizard Hunter knew little of the treasures. He could only mention their names, but their specific properties remained unknown.
Minori sighed inwardly. The lizardmen were indeed a secluded, xenophobic race with little knowledge of the outside world. Their lack of information about the treasures wasn't surprising.
"Tell me about your tribe's situation, then." Minori shook his head, deciding to pursue the information he could.
It didn't take long for the Lizard Hunter to reveal the tribe's structure.
They were from the "Small Fang Tribe," consisting of 65 lizardmen warriors, a priest, 111 males capable of combat, 94 females capable of combat, and several elderly and children, bringing the total to over 320 lizardmen.
"Weaker than expected," Minori muttered, taking in the details. With the Lizardmen's physical advantages, he had anticipated a stronger force. But this tribe seemed small and underwhelming.
In the anime, it took five lizardmen chiefs and a group of their warriors to defeat a powerful undead wizard who was below level 30.
"Take me to your tribe." Minori ordered, his patience thinning.
The Lizard Hunter led Minori toward the Small Fang Tribe's settlement, which was less than five kilometers away and nestled by the lake.
As they neared the entrance, two warriors stationed outside immediately recognized the Lizard Hunter's presence.
"Gully you're back. Did you catch him…?"
Before the second warrior could finish speaking, his gaze landed on Minori, the Fire Archangel, and the evil dog.
The sight was enough to leave the warrior speechless, unable to comprehend what was happening.
"What happened to the hunting squad? Gully?" another warrior asked, confusion evident on his face.
The Lizard Hunter didn't answer. Instead, he leapt forward, slamming his axe into one of the warriors.
"What are you doing, Gully!?" the second warrior shouted, shocked.
Minori glanced up at the sky as the Fire Archangel swooped in. The flaming sword cut through the second warrior effortlessly, splitting him in two.
The entire tribe erupted in chaos as the massacre began. Warriors rushed to gather, trying to assess the situation.
"Gulley!!"
"You killed your own tribe member!"
"What's going on?!"
The cries were frantic, but the sight of the Fire Archangel unleashed terror throughout the tribe.
Sukyu Juju, the tribe leader, and the priest rushed out of the huts to see the carnage.
"Damn bastard!!" Sukyu Juju shouted, his eyes blazing with fury. He drew a slingshot from his waist and rushed forward.
But the priest stopped him, grabbing his arm.
"Don't be rash!" the priest warned, his voice trembling. "This… this is an angel."
"An angel?" Sukyu Juju's heart sank, realizing the gravity of the situation. The hunting squad had been sent to capture the human who could summon angels.
Now that the creature was in their midst, the only chance to stop it was to kill Minori.
"This is a monster summoned by third-tier magic. We must hide the tribe!" the priest said urgently. "I can hold it back for now, but not for long."
"Understood!" Sukyu Juju shouted as he quickly directed his warriors to evacuate the women and children.
The priest raised his cane high, and a layer of green magical light spread out, calming the warriors.
"Everyone, stay back and use ranged attacks!" the priest commanded.
At his order, the lizardmen warriors armed with bows and slingshots began to fire on the Fire Archangel, while others threw whatever objects they could find.
