As Uchiha Obito was finally caught within the layers of Uchiha Yue's sealing array, Yue felt a heavy weight lift from his chest. With both enemies subdued, he dispelled the illusory realm that had trapped them. The flickering edges of the world he had forged with his Mangekyō faded into reality.
Despite appearing overwhelmingly dominant—suppressing Itachi's Susanoo, forcing the latter to gouge out his own eyes to escape Yue's genjutsu—this strength came at a steep cost. His chakra was burning rapidly, and the Mangekyō's pupil power consumption was immense. If not for the Hashirama cells integrated into his body—granting exceptional recovery and chakra regeneration—even his potent dojutsu would have been depleted by now.
"Damn it… Answer me! How the hell do you know me—and how did you neutralize Izanagi!?" Obito growled, struggling against the seal, his Chakra completely suppressed. Though restrained, the desperation in his voice rang clear.
"You're noisy," Yue replied coldly, casting a fūinjutsu over Obito's mouth. "If you weren't still useful, you'd already be dead."
Originally, Yue had intended to kill Obito on the spot. But after capturing both of his Mangekyō eyes and sealing him away, he had a change of heart. Obito was too valuable. Not only was he the direct inheritor of Madara's will, but he was also an unwitting pawn of Black Zetsu—the true manipulator orchestrating the Moon's Eye Plan behind the scenes.
If Obito were killed now, Zetsu might retrieve his body via Impure World Reincarnation, or worse, find another vessel. Leaving Obito alive, bound in a place Yue could monitor, offered the chance to lure out Zetsu himself. Perhaps even Madara's schemes could be unraveled further from Obito's sealed memories.
Besides, Obito possessed more than just intel—he carried artifacts like the Uchiha Gunbai, a fan forged from the God Tree's wood and wielded by Madara himself. Retrieving it later through him would be immensely worthwhile.
Despite Obito's fearsome reputation in the original timeline, Yue understood that his true strength hinged on Kamui, his Mangekyō's space-time technique. With both eyes sealed, Obito was no longer a threat—just a tool waiting to be exploited.
"Young Master, thank you for defeating these two demons and saving us all!"
"You're incredible! You overwhelmed Uchiha Itachi—one of the village's strongest!"
"If you hadn't stepped in, my brother wouldn't have survived!"
A chorus of voices rose from the gathered Uchiha clan members who had rushed to the scene after the battle's shockwaves subsided. Their eyes were full of admiration, gratitude, and awe.
"Enough," Yue said firmly, raising his voice over the crowd. "The traitors have been captured. I need a team to bury the fallen and others to inform the Patriarch and all Elders. Every remaining Uchiha must assemble immediately."
The Night of the Massacre may have been disrupted, but Yue knew Itachi and Obito were only the executioners. The true culprits—the instigators—were the Konoha high council: Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzō, and the advisors Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu.
Their plan had failed tonight. Yue couldn't be sure they would accept that failure peacefully. And judging by the ANBU operatives and Root ninjas already retreating from their surveillance posts, they were likely relaying everything that happened to the Hokage Tower right now.
Back at the Hokage Residence, the night had turned grim.
While Yue coordinated cleanup efforts, as he had anticipated, the urgent intelligence from the Uchiha district had already reached both the Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and the head of Root, Shimura Danzō.
Detailed reports arrived quickly: Uchiha Yue, previously classified as a mid-tier genin with little combat record, had suddenly manifested Mangekyō Sharingan, suppressed Uchiha Itachi, and even neutralized the mysterious masked man (whose identity had only recently been suspected as Uchiha Obito).
Reading through the report, Hiruzen's expression tightened.
How had they missed someone so dangerous? How had the intelligence division failed so catastrophically?
Danzō, who had burst into the Hokage's office, slammed his fist on the table. "Your plan has failed, Hiruzen. Uchiha has mobilized! They're gathering at this moment. We must strike now before they fully consolidate their power!"
Hiruzen remained seated, unmoving, his pipe cold. He had once believed in peaceful negotiation—trusted Itachi to resolve the clan's rebellion quietly. But now both Itachi and Obito were defeated. The element of surprise was lost. And more frighteningly, a new factor—Uchiha Yue—had emerged.
"A child with Mangekyō Sharingan, defeating Itachi… forcing Obito into capture," Hiruzen muttered. "How did we not see this coming…?"
"Because we relied on fools!" Danzō barked. "This Yue is far more dangerous than Itachi ever was. If we don't act, he'll become a second Madara. And don't forget, the Hokage Building was attacked, and the Scroll of Seals was stolen. Connect the dots, Hiruzen! It was him! We now have justification. He's a criminal."
The old Hokage gritted his teeth.
"You're right… I almost made a terrible mistake," he finally said. "Ready the ANBU and the combat platoons. We march on the Uchiha compound tonight. This ends before dawn."
With Hiruzen's reluctant approval, the gears of Konoha's war machine turned. An emergency mobilization order was issued. Shinobi who had already been on high alert due to the recent attack on the Hokage Building responded quickly.
"Move out!"
Leading from the front, Hiruzen put on his battle armor for the first time in years. The final conflict with the Uchiha Clan had truly begun.
