c33: The Destruction of the Ginyu Force
"Recoome is actually dead!"
Captain Ginyu, Jeice, and Burter stared in disbelief. They had expected Guldo to die his power level was barely over 10,000, even with his time-freezing ability but Recoome was different. His battle power was over 40,000, making him the second-strongest in the squad after Ginyu himself.
The fact that Li Xu killed him with a single blow was unnerving.
"Jeice. Burter. Go together." Ginyu's tone had lost its usual cockiness; his voice was low and grim.
"Yes, Captain!" the two replied in unison, immediately shooting into the sky.
"Jeice, let's use our combo attack," Burter said as they hovered in formation.
"Roger that!"
They both charged their ki, red energy gathering around Jeice and blue around Burter. In a synchronized motion, they merged the energy into a swirling violet vortex that circled them at high velocity.
This was the Purple Comet Attack their signature combo technique, designed to trap enemies with high-speed, continuous energy blasts from all angles.
"This again?" Li Xu raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
From all directions, the red-blue fused energy spheres screamed toward him like a hailstorm, detonating in rapid succession.
But Li Xu remained still.
"HAH!!"
With a powerful shout, a burst of pure white ki surged from his body. The sheer force of the release blew away the incoming blasts like dry leaves in a gale.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The redirected spheres exploded harmlessly across the field, scorching rock and earth. The air filled with smoke and dust.
"He blew them away… with just his aura?" Jeice muttered, sweat breaking out on his brow. Even Burter, usually arrogant about his speed, flinched.
"You done playing around?" Li Xu's voice echoed behind them.
The two whipped around only to find two ki blasts already forming in Li Xu's palms.
Before they could dodge, the blasts fired point-blank.
"NOOO!"
Their screams were swallowed by the roar of the explosions. The blasts carried them far into the distance before detonating with massive force, engulfing them in flames and shockwaves.
As the smoke cleared, Li Xu turned calmly to face Ginyu.
The Ginyu Force had fallen. Only the captain remained.
"That's the last of your cannon fodder. Your turn now," Li Xu said coldly, stepping forward.
Of all the members of the Ginyu Force, only Ginyu had a power level comparable to Li Xu's. This was the fight Li Xu had been waiting for.
"Let me guess you can suppress your battle power, can't you?" Ginyu asked with a smirk, completely unshaken by the deaths of his men.
"Caught that, huh?" Li Xu replied with a faint smile.
"So can I." Ginyu's eyes gleamed with pride. His ability to mask and modulate his power was one of the reasons Frieza valued him so highly.
"Then stop holding back. Go all out before you end up like the others." Li Xu's tone turned serious. Having read about Ginyu's capabilities including his notorious Body Change technique he wasn't going to take chances.
"No need to tell me twice."
"YAHHH!"
Ginyu let out a deafening roar as his power surged. The ground around him split open, chunks of rock levitating under the immense pressure. His purple aura crackled violently as debris rose and disintegrated mid-air, pulverized by the sheer force of his energy.
Gale-force winds swept the battlefield, but Li Xu stood unfazed.
When Ginyu's ki finally stabilized, the dust cleared. He floated with arms outstretched, his expression wild with confidence.
"Now you've seen my true power 120,000! You afraid yet?" Ginyu sneered, expecting Li Xu to show fear.
But Li Xu simply crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes.
"You want to see my power level? Fine, take a look." Li Xu said calmly, then began to release his ki.
"Beep! Beep! 20,000... 30,000... 40,000... 50,000..."
The numbers on Ginyu's scouter rose rapidly. His expression grew more serious with each digit. He had initially estimated Li Xu's strength to be somewhere around 80,000, but the rising power level didn't stop there.
"80,000... 90,000... 100,000..."
The scouter finally stabilized at 105,000. Ginyu exhaled, relaxing a little.
"Hah! Just a bit over 100,000. That's nothing! I'll kill you before you can raise it again," Ginyu barked, his cockiness returning.
"You fool. You're too obsessed with numbers." Li Xu scoffed. "What matters is how you use your power."
"Kaio-Ken Times Two!"
A crimson aura burst from Li Xu's body. His ki doubled instantly, distorting the air around him.
BOOM!
Ginyu was still laughing when his scouter exploded in a burst of sparks. The last number it displayed was 200,000.
"Wh-What?!" Ginyu's grin vanished, replaced by shock. The scouter couldn't read beyond 200,000, meaning Li Xu's power was now off the charts.
"This can't be! You surpassed me completely!"
"Nothing's impossible." Li Xu suddenly appeared in front of Ginyu, faster than he could react. "Now, go join your team."
BAM! A devastating punch crashed into Ginyu's stomach. The elite soldier gasped, doubling over and coughing up stomach bile.
Before he could recover, Li Xu swept his leg upward, sending Ginyu flying into the air, then crashing back down.
CRASH! The ground cracked open. Ginyu's battered body lay partially buried in rubble, the earth trembling from the impact.
As the dust settled, Ginyu staggered to his feet. He clutched his stomach, blood trailing from the corner of his mouth. The damage was severe but instead of despair, glee flickered in his eyes.
"What's he smiling for?" Li Xu frowned.
Then SPLURCH! Ginyu plunged his hand into his own chest, further injuring himself.
Li Xu narrowed his eyes. He knew exactly what was coming. He masked his expression and tilted his head in mock confusion. "Giving up already?"
"Heh... No. I'm trading up." Ginyu smirked through the pain. "A body with over 200,000 combat power... is mine!"
"Change NOW!"
A flash of blinding light erupted from Ginyu's mouth, rushing toward Li Xu.
But in that moment, Li Xu calmly lifted his hand and flung a frog straight into the beam.
FLASH!
When the light faded, Ginyu's body jerked unnaturally. Then, with a croak, it began hopping in confusion.
"Ribbit... RIBBIT!!"
The captain of the Ginyu Force had become a frog.
Li Xu walked forward and looked down. "Now you can join your team in hell."
Two beams of energy fired from his fingers, incinerating both the frog-bodied Ginyu and the frog he had swapped with. Smoke curled from the scorched earth.
DING-DONG! Mission complete. Congratulations, host! You've acquired the 'Rejuvenation Physique' plug-in.
The mechanical voice of the system echoed in his mind.
A satisfied smile touched Li Xu's lips. With his new recovery ability, he could now regenerate lost limbs and survive in the harsh conditions of deep space without issue.
