CHAPTER 65 – Kei vs. Desmolfer's Husbands

Kei had returned to his original form. Goodbye to escape plans disguised as someone else. If he was going to escape, it would be by fighting—there was no other option. Drin and Mia did the same, abandoning their own plans. Now, the only plan in effect was to fight.

The air was thick with tension. The ground was cracked from the pressure of the energies radiating from both Kei and the demons. Everyone was ready to act at any moment—they just needed a signal. Around them, shadows danced in the flickering light of the flames still burning on the ground.

Drin pursed her lips and looked at Kei with concern. Although she trusted his strength, facing multiple high-level demons wasn't something to take lightly. And they weren't his only concern. If they'd been found, it was only a matter of seconds before Desmolfer found out, too. And if she found them, they would definitely die.

"Drin, how strong are they?" Kei asked, not taking his eyes off their enemies.

She sighed, knowing there was no way to soften the truth.

"They're not as strong as a commander, but they are stronger than me, darling."

Kei thought over her words, comparing them to the most terrifying threat he had faced so far—Nero, the Slime woman.

"They're not as strong as a commander… How powerful was Nero compared to them?"

Drin frowned, recalling that sadistic, ruthless demon. Kei had almost died that day, and only a miracle had saved him. He had gotten stronger, yes, but even the current Kei would lose to Nero. He was still far from reaching "commander" level.

"I think she was twice as powerful."

"Oh, I see."

Kei chuckled humorlessly.

"And Nero basically humiliated me, violated me, massacred me, toyed with me. I could only defeat her with the power of friendship—well, I mean, with the [Dragon Heart]."

Drin lowered her gaze, remembering what Kei had endured in that battle. The regular Kei never stood a chance against her. Even if Drin had helped in the fight, the result would've been the same.

Kei was still far from that level. So, would he be able to escape from them? The answer was reflected in Kei's eyes—eyes filled with determination.

"But if she was twice as powerful as them…"

He smiled, and so did Drin and Mia, realizing that he didn't feel the slightest bit of fear or concern—and that could only mean one thing: he had a plan.

"I think I've got a shot."

These weren't empty words. He didn't say them to bluff. He meant it.

The demons, impatient, laughed mockingly, thinking he was just trying to intimidate them. Coming from a human, it was like a puppy trying to scare a fierce wolf.

"Bwahahaha! A chance?!"

"Come on then, show me!"

One of them, with scars across his grayish skin and bloodshot eyes, pointed at Drin with contempt.

"Leave that bitch to me! I'll kill that filthy traitor!"

Kei's blood boiled instantly. His jaw clenched, and his fist tightened so hard that his nails dug into his skin. They had just made a big mistake.

Insulting him was something he could tolerate. He'd learned to ignore insults ever since Cris taught him to enjoy life in his own way. Words were just that—words. Ignoring them and moving on was the healthiest way, because words only hurt if you give them power.

But they hadn't insulted Kei. They'd insulted Drin, the woman he loved—and hearing that enraged him.

"Don't insult Drin."

The demons laughed even harder.

"That stinking bitch doesn't deserve our respect!"

With each word, his fury grew.

"Fucking traitor! Inferior demon!"

The woman he loved, whose smile and presence always brought him happiness, was being insulted.

"We'll capture and torture you to death, bitch!"

And threatened.

"Hahahahaha! What? Are you getting mad, human?"

Instead of alerting Desmolfer about a human, they were wasting time mocking him. The biggest mistake of their lives. Even he knew it.

The Supreme God munched on popcorn and chuckled softly.

"So cliché."

They kept laughing, ridiculing Drin, enjoying Kei's growing anger.

Kei's pupils narrowed.

"I said don't insult her."

But the laughter and insults only grew louder, pushing him to the edge of his patience.

"Cállense a la vergaaaaaa!! (SHUT THE FUUUUUCK UUUUUUP!!)"

A crackle of electricity echoed through the air. Red lightning burst from his body, crackling violently. His eyes turned a bright red, filled with uncontainable rage.

The demons stepped back, startled by the sudden change.

"Cállense a la verga"—a very common insult in Spanish, but to Kei, it meant something else. It was a reflection of his fury. His biological mother once shouted it when little 7-year-old Kei was nearly run over by a truck—but the truck managed to brake in time. "¡Vete a la verga!" was what she yelled just before slapping the driver in the face, fed up with him trying to blame Kei. He had run a red light—it wasn't Kei's fault—and hearing him try to justify himself made her furious.

Kei didn't remember that at the moment, but subconsciously, he reacted the same way—protecting the person he loved.

"Kei... Red Mode..." Drin whispered, her heart pounding.

Kei's aura flared with fury, kicking up dust from the ground. His muscles tensed, his presence becoming suffocating. The demons, who had seen him as trash, were now sweating bullets. They no longer faced a Kei ready to run—they faced a Kei ready to fight to the death. And their instincts, unknowingly, screamed at them to flee.

"You'll regret insulting my Drin!!"

Drin blushed, touched by his words.

"M-my Drin?!"

"That bitch reeks of betrayal! Let's finish this!"

One of the demons raised his hand, and a fireball the size of a cow began to form above his palm. The heat distorted the air around it. It was so intense that Mia almost collapsed, but she refused to fall in front of an enemy—much less a demon. She endured the heat, even the burns, standing firm as the damage piled on.

But there was someone in the room smiling in the face of such heat—the tiny fairy on Kei's back.

"Die!"

The fireball shot toward Kei at an overwhelming speed—but not faster than Kei's reaction. He pulled Drin and Mia behind him, shielding them with his body as he took the full force of the attack.

The explosion shook the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust and ash.

The demons smiled smugly.

"He couldn't have survived that!"

"Pathetic!"

"Pfft. That was too easy!"

"We should tell Desmolfer we killed the traitor bitch."

They laughed—another huge mistake. Why? Because the explosion had only kicked up dust—it hadn't destroyed anything. Why?

A wave of heat blew the dust away, revealing an imposing silhouette.

"W-what...?" was all the demon could say, realizing his most powerful attack had failed—for the second time in his life. Desmolfer had been the only one to withstand that attack—until he came... or rather, she.

In front of them, Kei stood unharmed. But the most surprising part was the half of his face engulfed in living flames that had taken shape. Within the fire, glowing eyes and a mouth moved.

"It's my power! Fire magic!" said Nirfei from within the flames.

Drin's eyes widened in amazement as she realized what had happened.

"Wow, I feel incredible. Did you absorb the magic?" Kei asked.

"No, but I can protect you from those kinds of attacks."

Drin figured out what had really happened, sensing the scattered magical energy around them. Nirfei hadn't absorbed the magic—she had returned it to its original form and dispersed it. In other words, she made fire attacks useless.

The flames faded, and Nirfei returned to her original form, floating in front of Kei.

"But I prefer the sword form—it's cooler."

A flash of fire surrounded the little fairy, turning her into a burning-blade sword. Kei grabbed it with a confident smile.

"Awesome!"

"Darling, you look amazing!" Drin said, eyes sparkling.

"You look amazing!" Mia echoed enthusiastically.

Kei spun the sword with skill and assumed a battle stance.

"Girls, I'll buy you time. Get out of here—I'll see you at the base."

Drin frowned. Kei again—rushing to fight alone. Last time, it nearly cost him his life. She didn't want to leave him behind again.

"We can help!"

"Don't worry about me. Go. I'll take down the demons."

The demons laughed, and the girls flinched, barely believing what they were hearing. They trusted Kei and his power—but this time, that trust felt... absolute. It wasn't 80%, or 90%, or even 99%. It felt like there was a 100% chance of victory. No doubts in their hearts. Even Drin, who didn't want to leave him again, took a step back with Mia, ready to escape without him.

Her body moved on its own. Drin couldn't believe it—but then she smiled, along with Mia. Kei was Kei. Her love, the man who won her heart, and the future slayer of a goddess. A few sex toys shouldn't be a problem for him.

"Oh? You think you can beat us?"

"You're hilarious!"

"You're just a filthy human!"

"You think you're strong, kid?!"

"I'll—!"

But before they could finish, Kei dashed forward at a speed their eyes couldn't follow.

A red flash streaked through the air.

"What...?"

An instant later, one of the demons' heads rolled on the floor. In less than a second, Kei had defeated a demon who was half as strong as Nero.

As his foot touched the ground, he dashed again. The others barely reacted before Kei was already in front of the next one.

A clean strike. The demon's body split in two, blood soaking the hot ground.

The three remaining demons backed away, now with fear in their eyes.

"I-impossible...!"

"So fast?!"

"But he's just a human!"

Kei spun the sword, shaking blood from the blazing blade.

"You're nothing but the Demon Queen's sex toys. Don't get cocky, you walking dildos."

Drin and Mia, far from worried, smiled with pride.

"Kei got even more amazing!" said Mia.

"Darling, that was incredible!" said Drin.

"Incredible" was all they could think or say in that moment. He had defeated two high-level demons in seconds—without any effort.

There was no better word to define the moment. It was... incredible.

Kei looked at Drin and smiled softly.

"Drin, you're kind and lovely. I won't let anyone insult you."

Drin's heart fluttered, her face blushing even more.

"Mia, Drin—we've got what we came for. Go. I'll catch up once I'm done with them."

The demons clenched their teeth, regaining composure.

"Damn human!"

"We'll tear you apart!"

Kei stepped forward, his sword glowing brightly.

"Shall we begin?"

The demons roared and charged at him.

Kei smiled.

The real battle was just beginning.
