"I swear I'll blow us all up!!!"
The man, still aiming the gun at Jayhan's head, couldn't help but panic a bit.
He was sure he saw her reach into the bag and pull out something. Could he really risk doubting it was some kind of bomb?
Judging from the expression on her face, he couldn't tell whether Kara was being serious or just stupid to see the gun aimed at Jayhan's head.
The man gritted his teeth, his fingers curling around the gun as he pushed it more against Jayhan's head.
"Put that on the ground right now! I'm not fuckin' joking, I'll blow his brains out."
Those threats were met with deaf ears as Kara didn't once take them into consideration.
In fact, she was more focused on the system notifications she was receiving.
{Jayhan is losing a lot of blood.}
{Possibility of collapsing has increased.}
Glaring hard at the man, she waited patiently for when she could strike. One wrong move, and Jayhan's entire brain could be scattered on the floor.
She didn't care about being shot; her issue was the fact that the gun was aimed too close to Jayhan. And even worse, this disgusting woman had her hands all over him, damaging Jayhan's perfect skin.
How she wished she could cut off the girl's head and make her apologize for that. But alas, her choices were limited; the man could easily kill Jayhan before she even thought to take a single step.
Jayhan, on the other hand, didn't move a muscle from where he was.
He could feel the gun pressing against the side of his head and the glass almost slicing through his neck.
If it was just the man, then he could find a way to free himself. But having a broken glass aimed at your neck was a different issue.
"I'm not fuckin' playing! I'll kill him, put the damn thing on the ground," yelled the man.
"You let him go first, and I'll do just that."
"Bitch! Do you want him to die?!"
"Listen to him, I can slit his throat anytime."
"Go ahead." Kara acted as if she was about to pull the grenade.
"I'll blow his brains out."
"I'll take us all to hell, I dare you!"
Kara wasn't kidding around. The two strangers pressured her as best they could, and yet, she didn't budge.
While that was happening, Jayhan stealthily watched as Veronica made her way around the store. She was being sneaky, lowering her head behind the counter so they wouldn't see her.
Apparently, they had forgotten she was even there during the entire fuss and argument.
Understandable, considering they attacked the moment they entered the store and didn't think to count everyone or check their surroundings.
Rookie mistake, a mistake Jayhan intended to take full advantage of.
It was one reason why Jayhan was calm the whole time. All Veronica needed to do was pick the hammer that was on the ground and slam it against one of their heads.
If that could be done, he would handle the rest.
Veronica carefully picked the hammer off the ground and slowly began to walk towards them from behind.
Jayhan was more than ready for whatever would follow right after. The moment any of them dropped to the ground, he would give the one left a tug to the front, so Kara could finish them off.
{Jayhan would like you to get prepared for an attack.}
A smile was immediately plastered on Kara's face.
'I knew my baby would think of something…'
Bang!
The sound of the hammer slamming against a human body vibrated.
True, Jayhan wasn't much of a fighter; he had never gotten into a fight in his life. The only place he truly had any type of power was when he gamed.
That said, this world was now different from the world before. In this world, he had the upper hand.
[You have spent 1500 on strength.]
[Strength = 20 >> 34.]
The moment the girl holding the broken glass dropped to the ground after getting her head bashed in, Jayhan used the moment of distraction to grab the man tightly and throw him in front with so much power.
It wasn't just a regular throw. Jayhan used every single muscle in his body, his veins bulging as the man went flying forward.
It was then Kara attacked.
Tossing the can of beans she had disguised as a grenade, she clenched her fist and charged towards the man while he was mid-air.
[The character Kara has activated the special skill The Blessing of Mother of Offense.]
Her fist lit up with mana as she punched the man in the face, sending his body crashing onto the counter with a powerful boom.
The man, buried under the counter, was left unconscious, alongside the girl that followed him in.
Jayhan couldn't help but think Kara did a bit too much just to put one man down.
Well, he couldn't complain; the threat was down either way. It worked in their favor.
It was just then a notification popped up in front of him.
[Reward for the second main Quest has been issued.]
[You have received 3000 coins.]
[A bonus of 2000 coins is being given for being the first person to kill a Skeleton Warrior.]
[You have gained a new skill.]
[Blade of Flames Lvl 1.]
Jayhan wasn't all too surprised about the notification. The only thing he felt was hope.
True, he did receive three skills during the start of the apocalypse, but all three were not combat-related.
But with this new skill…
Ding!
(The next quest will begin in 30:00 minutes.)
(Monsters will be unavailable for 20:00 minutes.)
'The system is giving us time to gather resources? If I didn't know better, I'd say whoever is pulling the strings is some kind of sadist.'
As much as he wanted to know what caused the apocalypse and who was behind it, Jayhan didn't want to waste time giving his questions up to thin air.
For now, surviving was more important.
"Oh, that reminds me, I have to complete this quest too," Veronica said, and then right after, she handed a video game over to Jayhan.
"The sub-quest I got told me I was supposed to hand it to anyone in this store. You should count, right?"
