Chapter 13 - End of simulation

[Congratulations, you managed to kill the golem.]

Shaan was thrown, and his body landed quite hard on the ground, along with the fragments of the Golem's body that had been scattered. His whole body felt so painful, but at least he could still walk, although it did require extra strength.

[Shaan, it's a good thing you're okay]

"Yeah, I'm fine," Shaan uttered. "Now we should see how Chelsie is doing. I'm worried about her condition."

Just as Shaan was about to walk back to see how Chelsie was doing, a golden yellow beam of light appeared right where Chelsie was. Shaan, who noticed it, quickly hurried his footsteps to look at what was happening.

"Chelsie, what happened?"

"Calm down, Shaan. I'm fine." Chelsie stood up slowly from her position. "I just used my ability to heal my wound."

'Healing ability?' Shaan was silent for a moment. 'Interesting. I don't know if Chelsie has such an ability like that.'

"Shaan, your body... your body seems to be injured," Chelsie expressed worriedly. "Wait, I'll try my best to heal your wounds."

Chelsie immediately pointed her wand forward, and instantly, the same golden-yellow colored lights appeared around Shaan's body. The light became brighter and brighter, and somehow Shaan could feel some kind of mysterious energy entering his body. The pain that Shaan had felt every time he walked slowly began to fade away on its own

"Wow, Chelsie, thank you." Shaan moved his legs. "At least I can move my legs now."

"Uhm... you're welcome, Shaan. I'm just doing what I can."

"Come on, it's time for us to get out of this place and finish this simulation."

"Alright."

After walking for a few minutes, they finally arrived in front of the simulation portal. Chelsie slowly stopped her steps, then took out one of the Sapphire crystal stones that they had obtained while in the cave.

[You get 1x Sapphire crystal stone]

"Here you go, Shaan. As we agreed." Chelsie gave the crystal stone to Shaan. "Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. Without your help, I may have failed this simulation test."

"You're welcome. I'm glad I could help you, Chelsie."

Chelsie then quickly stepped into the portal, and her figure disappeared from Shaan's sight. Just a few seconds after Chelsie left, Shaan decided to step into the portal and immediately reached the open area.

'Gosh, I don't expect it to be like this at all.'

Shaan could only shake his head when he saw the long queue of what looked like snakes greeting him as soon as he passed through the portal. Damn. He did not think that other daemonists had also obtained the crystal stone. He couldn't help but follow the line until his turn finally came.

"Now, put the crystal stone in the suitcase," said the officer standing in front of Shaan. "Congratulations, you have completed the simulation test. After this, you may rest for about 5-10 minutes in the hall before continuing to the next session."

'Oh my, it turns out there is still another session.' Shaan shook his head. 'Training in this place is not as easy as I imagined.'

Shaan then walked following the directions from the officer until he finally arrived at the hall room which turned out to be the first room when he arrived at this place. There was a table placed in the center of the hall, and there were about 7 medium-sized boxes covered with white cloth.

'Strange, what exactly is behind that white cloth?'

After a few minutes, Mr. Luis arrived with two officers. One of the officers was seen holding a tablet that at first glance belonged to the Omni-tablet that Mr. Zion used when examining him, although it was not as large as the Omni-tablet.

"Alright, we will now begin the next session, which is the selection of mentors," Mr. Luis said, and then turned on the tab. "Your simulation results have been recorded in great detail in this tab. I see that there are still very many who cannot use their Daemons properly and manage their insanity levels properly, which would be very dangerous. Therefore, I am appointing some extra mentors to help you before you can carry out your first mission."

'Extra mentors? Is it possible that I can get a mentor like Mrs. Briana? Shaan was silent for a moment. 'I don't know, I hope so. I just hope for the best.'

Mr. Luis once again snapped his fingers, and the few officers who were there simultaneously pulled the cloth. Several transparent boxes containing a collection of colorful balls were seen inside, and in front of each box was the symbol of the 7 enigmas.

"Inside this box, there are numbers that refer to the names of mentors according to your enigmas," Mr. Luis explained. "Alright, then. All of you move and form a line according to your enigma."

Shaan then entered his enigma lineup, and one by one, the other daemonists began to advance to retrieve the ball. There were various looks on their faces as they drew one of the balls in the box. Some looked disappointed because they did not get a mentor that was not to their liking, but some showed happy expressions to the point of jumping up and down when they managed to get a famous mentor. Damn. It felt like it all just depended on a high luck factor, and unfortunately, Shaan was terrible at luck.

"Next," shouted the Officer standing at the front.

'Alright, it's my turn. I just hope I can find a mentor who can help me.'

Taking one single breath, Shaan walked over to the box. He slowly put his hand into the box and began to feel several balls gather around his hand, like a crowd of fish. His hand quickly grabbed one of the surrounding balls and pulled it out of the box.

"Number 4: Maximus Blugard," the officer read out the name of Shaan's mentor. "Please inform the other officer, and he will escort you to meet Maximus Blugard."

Shaan nodded his head. "Alright, I got it."

Shaan immediately told the officer nearby, and the officer then escorted him to the room where Maximus Blugard's mentor figure was. Honestly, there was a feeling of disappointment when Shaan's mentor's name was mentioned because he had no idea who that figure was. The name itself sounds unfamiliar, and he had never read or seen the name Maximus Blugard before.

'Ah, never mind. I hope he can be a good mentor for me.' He sighed. 'I hope so.'
