The first thing to greet Silver and Sonic were neither the face of a soldier or of a old friend but a giant metal door and a gush of air.
The lift doors open, the gates split apart as Sonic could finally see the place where he has come, a giant underground chasm and a army of turrets and drones.
Sonic: Woah! Just how much did Tails spent on this place? This place is massive.
Silver: I Dunno. I was never the one with good financial skills but I will say atleast enough to fund the first phase of death egg.
Sonic: Seriously? Wasn't that place suppo-
???: It looks like someone is shocked from my success. Can't say I don't like it.
Sonic: You think i wont recognise you with the voice changer? These tricks won't work on me tails.
Silver hasn't even completely understood what Sonic meant because there was no way tails will be there to recieve them. Or so he had thought.
The very next instant, Tails appears right beside them out of seemingly thin air. He was covered fully in some sort of scientist like attire with a orb floating right above his head like a halo.
Tails: I really need to work on a better voice changer *tosses away his previous voice changer * How did you even notice me anyway?
Sonic: Straight to the logical stuff? I guess you didn't miss your brother that much.. Silver take me back to the airship.
Silver looked at Sonic in bafflement. One second he was him about the price and the next he was talking to thin air.
Silver: *confused* Who the heck are you talking to? There is nobody here except us.
Sonic:*mocks silver* I guess you can't see through his camoflage, no wonder you were beaten by shadow for the rankings.
Silver:*expressionturnsfurious* YOU.
Meanwhile Tails is just standing under the camoflage of his halo drone while writing a bunch of reports on his tablet.
Sonic looks at silver as if looking at a idiot before pointing at place tails without any amusement or expression.
Silver being the blind silvery idiot he has always been failed to take the hint, felt insulted and got ready to square up with Sonic only for Tails to come behind him.
Tails: *plays horror film sound behind Silver's ears*
Silver jumped, his soul almost leaving his body as he flew many meters away before crashing into one the of walls and left a him shaped Dent in the steel hard walls.
Looking at the Comedic display of both power and stupidity, Sonic and Tails both burst out laughing as Silver pulled himself out and pouts in annoyance.
Silver glided across the room towards Sonic and wanted to say something but his Thoughts were stopped in their tracks suddenly a white flash came from behind and Sonic felt a extreme amount of hostility.
Without a second of hesitation, Sonic warped away from the unactivated confines of the cage and looked at where the shot came from and saw a masked figure pointing a sniper at him with several other bright lights circling around the gun. It was whisper.
Whisper: I demand a explanation Tails. Why the hell is a alloyan here and without cuffs as well.
Tails: Maybe you should have-
Sonic: *finally talking without the keyboard and speaker* Now would you look at that. A warm welcome with guns and bullets. *Leans to dodge a bullet*I was expecting that.
As Sonic was mocking Whisper, another figure could be seen dashing around the room with complete silence as Sonic didn't feel a ounce of hostility until the final moment.
Sonic turned, his senses taking over as he covered his hand with emerald force and blocked a curved dagger mere minimeters away from his eyes before kicking away the assailant and retreats only to get hit in his chest with something and flew away.
Sonic flipped, Dodging another bullet and warped upwards as the two newcomers finally came to his view.
Sonic: Espio and.. Cream? *Gets hit in the chest with something and flew away*
Espio: *turns to tails* So this is the doppelganger you were talking about? The one who claimed to be Sonic?
Cream: these Alloyans are annoying, first brother knuckles and now brother Sonic, do they even know any shame?
Sonic heard this sharp words as he lay down on the floor, each letter digging deeper into his heart as looked at the others.
There was no longer a calm and happy expression on their faces but only a ruthless coldness that showed him the reality of things, they never believed him.
Sonic: Ha. Hahaha *begins laughing madly* ... So you guys never trusted me eh?
Silver: Trust a alloyan? *His face filled with disgust while detached a pillar to use as weapon* Did you seriously think you were the first one to impersinate someone?
Sonic: I see. I see. *Raises his eyes to meet everyone's gaze* Then come at me.
Sonic stood up, his body stumbling from side to side as he found himself surrounded on all directions as could make up a pair of red eyes shining in the corner.
There was no easy escape this time, it is done or die now and he won't accept a easy death when he has his goal in front of him.
Suddenly the room fell to silence. There was no sound, no movement but only tension and suspense as Nobody dared make a move. Nobody except tails that is.
The facility changed, ground and pillars shifted, the ceiling opened up and the entire chasm was turned into a death trap for Sonic as hundreds of turrets aimed at him from all angles.
The next second everything Sonic could see was a rain of bullets and laser coming at him but for some reason it felt Nostalgic for him as he felt Time slow down around him or rather felt himself getting faster in the heat of the battle.
He weaved through them, dodging everything without any extra moments as he stood his ground until the missiles finally reached him and then warped above onto the ceiling only to feel the space fold around him.
Sonic: *blocks a kick* Not impressed.
Shadow: *twists his hand* You don't have to. Chaos control.
Shadow used the chaos emerald to stop time as Sonic and everything around him froze in it's place.
Shadow sighs, his hand going to his sleeve from where he grabbed a arrow like item and stabs it towards Sonic without a second thought but.
Sonic: Not so soon. *Grabs onto the emerald*
Shadow was baffled and completely stunned as Sonic unexpectedly moved within the stopped time and latched onto the emerald in his hand and casted Chaos control over Shadow's.
The second Sonic swooped in, grabbing one of the emeralds hanging at Shadow's waist as he warped himself away just before his own time stop ended and soon found himself right between Cream and whisper's bullet.
He ducked, avoiding The mallet in Cream's hand which seemed awfully similar to Amy's but he didn't have the time to react as his right palm gets pierced with a wisp bullet.
He moves, ready to deliver a elbow to Cream's face but stopped as he couldn't bring himself to attack her and instead tried to disarm her away from the mallet that weight over a ton.
He was suddenly hit by a realisation.. he can't lift the mallet but Cream can and that means-
Cream: HANDS OFF YOU MEANIE *buries Sonic into the ground with a punch* You should have st-..
Cream looks down at Sonic, ready to throw her mallet as she tries to predict him Warping but that never came and eventually she turns to Sonic again who was laying down on the ground with a arm twisted over the other and his head buried.
Everyone came forward including Shadow as they look down and prepare their attacks to end him before a voice stops them as a alert was quickly sent to the Tails's watch.
Oringo: Boss! Miss Amy just begin moving, the Experiment worked!
Tails: It. worked? *Turns to Silver* Didn't you say it was a illusion?
Silver: You think i would lie? Cause there is no way I would be thrown out that helplessly when I specialize in mental prowess.
Tails: *confused* So you are telling me you tweaked the report and we jumped this. 'Sonic'. Who was helping us,Just because you couldn't accept you were overpowered?
Silver: *couldn't find a argument* I think so.
Tails sighs and pinches his nose in annoyance before looking to Shadow and gestures him to do something.
Shadow nods and the next second before Silver could even figure out what was going, he was already buried right beside Sonic after a time stop kick from Shadow.
Tails: *puts his hand on whisper's shoulder* Control yourself.
Whisper: But you said we are supposed t-
Tails: things change. And we need every bit of information we can get.
Cream: Umm. *Acts Innocently and raises her hand* couldn't we have asked him before this? *Points at half mangled Sonic* I don't think he will be cooperating with us now.
Tails: *sighs more* I wonder if he actually turned out to be Sonic.. How we gonna explain this?
Nobody has a answer to Tails's question so they could do nothing but look at each other as they eventually carried both Sonic and Silver out and carried them deeper into the facility.
