Ji-a slammed the door so hard it echoed through the hallway like a war cry. Her face was twisted in fury, and her chest rose and fell rapidly as if she'd sprinted all the way home. Her parents, who had been quietly sitting in the living room, turned sharply at the sound.
Her father, Jin Ho, stood up immediately. "What happened? Did something happen at work?"
Her mother, Mi-na, didn't wait for an answer. She rushed toward Ji-a, concern etched deeply into her features. "What is it? Talk to me. What happened? Is it Kang Na-ri again?"
"No, Mom!" Ji-a yelled, her voice cracking from rage. "It's that crazy bitch, Kim Minji! How dare that brat!" She stormed past them, like a spoilt child,threw her purse onto the couch, and spun around, her eyes brimming with tears. "She hit me, Mom. She hit me. In the elevator. She slapped me across the face and threatened to kill me!"
"What?" Jin Ho's face darkened. "She what?"
