Just as it was about to get connect the knight tilted his head to side ways, its eyes, or the holes where it's eyes supposed to be, locked onto him. Arthur twisted the dagger, holding it in reverse grip, changed his attack to slash. He knew it wasn't going to cut it but instead of backing away, he held onto the knight's sword hand with his free hand.
He tried his best to push the dagger in the cracked part of the skull, and with a large *Crack* sound succeeded in breaking it.
After the knight fell, all the sound died down. Arthur, mildly exhausted got back up and collected his belongings. He didn't want to wait any longer now that the battle is over. He found another dagger lodged inside the knight's armor, dipped in some kind of liquid. Not wasting any time to dwell he put it inside his sack.
Luckily he already changed into leather armor and collected what he could. After taking another glance to make sure he didn't miss anything crucial, he moved quickly yet silently as possible.
There were still around five minutes left until he left this place. Worst case scenario, he still had stealth potion but he didn't count on it.
Thank goodness he moved away or he would be swarmed by things that are making such sound. But that goodness didn't last long.
He heard sounds coming from the front too. It wasn't footsteps this time, rather, someone or something getting dragged on, like, slithering!
'Holy crap are their snakes too?!' Arthur thought as he stepped inside another door. This time he didn't wished to find out, or more like he was too busy to take on the literal beauty in front of him.
And before you think, NO! It wasn't a woman!
It was literally, an open area. The door which was suppose to have a room behind it did not had one! or more like it was destroyed, leaving only few rocks attached to the building. If he took one more step, he will fall into the darkness below.
Luckily he wasn't forced to play spider man here as the sound behind the door faded. He took a last glance get a resemblance to this location but couldn't see anything in the heavy rain.
Arthur moved in and continues the path. Arthur checked the timer and there was only one minute left till he was out.
'Isn't this place supposed to be dangerous? It's like I am playing in kid mode.'
He muttered at the time hit zero. There wasn't the flashy things he was hoping.
[Ding! You have completed the Sub-Quest: Night in the Cemetery. Rewards have been granted]
A flash of light appeared and blinded him momentarily. When the flash of light disappeared, Arthur found himself back in the woods where he interacted the quest.
'Are you online now or still planning to give silent treatment? Nux? Hello?' Arthur tried many times to get a reaction out of Nux, even a snarky comment would do. It was ominous that a chatter box, both literally and figuratively to go silent.
[...This quest proves my theory.] A sudden prompt appeared in front of Arthur.
'You are alive! You gave me a scare there.' Arthur sighed in relief and he finally paid attention to Nux's words.
'What theory?' he tought
[That someone...or something...is looking out for you. I mean, you spawned right inside the Boss room for goodness's sake!]
Arthur had a dumbfounded expression on his face. He couldn't make sense what Nux was spouting.
[Look, didn't you found it wierd that you didn't get the action you craved? That everything was just 'given' to you without actually fighting any bad guys like those cliched plots? Why the location was empty with no one in sight?] Nux tried to explain like scooby doo and Shaggy pair searching for hidden mysteries in foo-*ahem*, in the destination he got 'randomly' spawned to.
[That was so because you were spawned right in the middle of the boss room! Normally, only some no name random extra spawns lime that when authurs or storytellers want to hype up a boss and make dumb protagonist look cool. But in real life, they are just lazy and copy trend. You, on the other hand, spawned right there, or should I say someone 'fixed' your coordinates there. You were supposed to 'enter' the room and trigger the hidden mechanism, but you did not. Instead, you left! The boss, which was guaranteed to kill anyone entering would be freed and you fight tooth and nail! That was how it was supposed to go! But you...you left.]
Nux was hoping to watch the drama, hell, he even prepared the system equivalent of refreshments and what did he got? He directly saw the end part of the battle...if you can call it one. Its like getting hyped up for endgame and only see Iron man snapping his fingers...You can imagine the disappointment there.
