Mark turned to look at the city, his eyes never leaving the picturesque view of the city skyline.
"The city isn't getting better." His gaze returned to Alex, "And the people at the top don't care to fix it."
His hand clenched into a fist, his gaze growing sharper,
"But I want to change that system; I want to at least make a difference."
Alex looked at the man, his face showing a determination and fire that was rare to find in anyone in this kind of city,
'I could use this, but first, how far is he willing to go...?'
Alex leaned forward as well, his face stoic, betraying none of his thoughts,
"And what do you want from me...?" His question caused Mark to frown. His eyes drifted away from Alex, and the fire he had flickered and waned, replaced with a new emotion… hesitation.
'Struggling to give me an answer you already… I guess he's not willing to go too far.'
He looked at the detective as he responded to his question.
