Sweat covered his forehead as he sat up straight from his bed, his heart pounding like a galloping horse.
'What was that…?'
He thought as he tried to calm his mind, the scene still fresh in his mind.
Feeling the sweat running down his face, he tried to wipe it with his hand, lifting his left hand. But a sharp, piercing pain shot through his shoulder, causing him to wince.
"You shouldn't move too much..."
That familiar voice—sweet, but cold—snapped him out of his thoughts. He turned to look at the side of his bed, and there, Ana sat on the chair and looked at him, her eyes scrutinizing every part of his body.
"Why are you crying...?" she asked him as she pointed at the tears that were drying on his cheeks.
Alex just looked at her, and he brought his right arm towards his face, wiped it, and looked at his hands.
