POV Third-Person
An overwhelming silence fell over the room after Dante spoke.
Antonello: "So you're..." He couldn't finish his sentence as he was interrupted.
Dante: "WAIT!" He shouted into the air. "WHERE'S MY SUPER SUIT?" Silence returned. No one knew what to say or think.
Arthur: "Dante," the injured man's voice was heard.
Dante: "Jake," he said, turning to Arthur.
Arthur: "Who the fuck is Jake? Well, it doesn't matter, I'm talking to that guy with blond hair and a gold watch?" He said, pointing painfully at Antonello.
Dante looked at him. Antonello stared back, not knowing what to do, even as he processed the irrational events he was facing. His men were the same.
Arthur: "He wants to steal your chance to be a hero." He hoped Dante understood what he was saying, and in a way, it turned out that way, but not in the way he expected.
With my gaze darkened toward the mobsters, I took slow steps toward them. The mobsters felt a chill run down their bodies when they saw Dante like that.
Subordinate 12: "Protect the boss, don't let him get close to him," said one of the mobsters. A large group of them stood between Antonello and Dante.
Dante: "So you..." he said as he took steps toward the crowd of mobsters. "SO YOU STOLE THE TEACHER'S HAT," he shouted to the group, more specifically to Antonello. No one knew what to answer, but that didn't stop Dante.
Dante: "You're in the way." He entered the crowd of mobsters and with a swing of his sword, cut four of them in half.
None of them expected this. It turned out these heroes were more bloodthirsty and ruthless, what they didn't know was that this situation was very circumstantial. Trini and Arthur's separation left them with no choice but to be brutal with their enemies. Dante's case is a different story, as he's not in his right mind, still sick, drunk, and on some drugs that are still taking effect.
To effectively and quickly awaken him, Asclepius injected two different drugs into his bloodstream: one for hyperactivity and the other, adrenaline. So right now, he's unstoppable, as the poison he consumed prevents those drugs from being cleared and removed from the body.
The scene was bloody; anyone who crossed Dante's path was sliced by his sword, no exceptions. There was a moment when the thugs stopped confronting him for fear of being brutally murdered.
Dante began walking toward Antonello. He was covered in blood, emphasizing that it wasn't his. He placed his sword on his shoulder, even though he still had a live thug impaled on it. The movement of walking caused the mobster to bleed more on his sword. He kept screaming in agony and pain, but the two ignored it. In the end, they stood face to face.
The place was filled with blood and corpses. Arthur was against the wall of the clinic, as far away from the confrontation as possible, in case he accidentally hurt him. Dante's sword movement was completely barbaric, making no distinction between allies and enemies.
Dante: "I look so good to you. Do you like me? I didn't know you're ugly besides..." He couldn't finish his sentence, clutching his stomach as if he were about to throw up.
Antonello didn't waste his opportunity, landing a blow at Dante, then grabbing and stretching out the hand that held his sword. Seeing where the tendon was, he struck it quickly, causing Dante to drop his sword, finishing with a kick that sent him flying.
Having the sword, he decided to throw it away. He wasn't a swordsman; he would fight better with his bare hands than with a sword. That was the main reason why he took it from Dante as soon as he could, drawing him into a hand-to-hand fight, where he would have a greater advantage.
Dante got up from the ground to wipe the blood from his mouth, looked at Antonello, and got into a fighting stance. Antonello did the same, and after about three seconds, he launched himself forward, kicking head-on.
Strikes, blocks, deflections, dodging. That's what they were doing, without moving from where they had started fighting. Suddenly, Dante managed to grab Antonello's left arm and stretch it to the right, leaving the side of his torso open. He quickly landed three blows, but the third sounded like he had hit a piece of iron.
Taking advantage of Dante's confusion, he turned his arm into a metallic iron and with a strong movement managed to position his arm on his left side again, now leaving Dante open. With his other right arm, also made of metallic iron, he struck Antonello, piercing at least three houses.
Antonello followed him, leaving the stage empty. As soon as they left, Asclepio, Jeral and Sofia came out, Asclepio went to Arthur's to see him, Jeral went to Chris's and Sofia checked if there were still any mobsters alive among Dante's victims.
Arthur managed to stand, and at that moment Trini and Sullivan arrived. When they arrived at the clinic, they stood dumbfounded, staring at the dead mobsters on the floor.
Trini: "What happened here?"
Arthur: "It was Dante."
Trini: "And what's he doing here if he's sick and sleeping?"
Arthur: "They defeated me, they hit him from behind. If something like that happened, I asked Asclepio to wake Dante and take him to where the mobsters were."
Trini: "And where is Dante now?"
Arthur: "He must be fighting with the mob boss. Tell me, can you see them from here?" I ask Trini.
She decides to focus all her attention on the sounds of the fight.
Trini: "Yes, I see them."
Back to the confrontation between Antonello and Dante. Antonello arrived where Dante had fallen. The houses were inhabited, but with all this, the inhabitants decided to flee the area or the city itself.
When Antonello arrived at his destination, Dante was already standing, wiping the dust and blood from his face.
Dante: "That didn't even hurt," before spitting blood on the ground. "Well, let's keep dancing."
Antonello: "You should give up because you don't..." He couldn't finish because he was interrupted.
Dante: "Blah blah blah, don't finish that cliché phrase, you're no fun at all. Let's skip that stupid monologue, let's get to the punches quickly, I'll fall asleep from boredom," he said, doing somersaults and tricks.
Antonello: "Well, you asked for it," he proceeded to turn his entire body into iron. "Form: Heavy metal," he said, getting into a fighting stance again. Dante did the same at the start of the second round. All of this was my own and Trini told the group.
The two went head-to-head again, but the difference was that Dante had a harder time dealing damage and also took it with greater force.
Tetsu Tetsu no Mi was a paramecium-type Devil Fruit that caused the user's body to turn into iron, turning both their organs and bones into this material. You could say it's almost a Logia-type, but it lacks some characteristics to be one.
The damage Antonello received was minimal; no matter how strong Dante was, he couldn't do any significant damage. The little damage he did deal was absorbed.
Trini told the others what was happening, causing their hopes to slowly fade. But she noticed something that happened to Dante. His somewhat tanned skin-colored arms suddenly turned black, and with that blow, he was able to land a devastating blow on Antonello.
The blow was capable of not only knocking him back but also damaging his face. With the same momentum, he landed another blow, but this one didn't have the expected effect.
Trini noticed that Dante's arm had returned to normal, but with that, the increased damage disappeared.
Without waiting for anyone, they faced each other again, only now, Dante was only momentarily able to damage Antonello.
Antonello was surprised by Dante's resistance to damage. This was thanks to the Holy Knight-level training he had while living in Mary Goise. Although he wasn't able to complete it, it helped his constitution, strength, speed, and defense, not to mention the Refinement Pills he took.
Antonello took it all with both hands and stared at him. Despite all the blows he'd inflicted, he only looked a little worse for wear, as if he too had a toughness akin to iron.
Antonello: "What the hell are you?"
Dante: "I am..." He couldn't finish his sentence as he vomited, specifically in Antonello's face.
Antonello quickly let go of Dante to wipe the vomit from his eyes, leaving them wide open, sending his blackened arm flying through the buildings with a swipe.
After passing through four uninhabited houses, he managed to stop. The damage was still significant, managing to crack some parts of Antonello's body.
Where he was, the others had seen the mafia boss fly toward a house, but Trini lost sight of Dante. Out of nowhere, he appeared on the scene; none of them made a move. Dante looked around, walked, grabbed his sword, and vanished with a single blow.
Asclepio: "That..." he mumbled, but Trini heard him.
Trini: "What's up with that?" she asked, not understanding what he meant.
Asclepio: "What he just used is one of the six styles of the Marine. Only a Marine or someone of high rank in the world government has the opportunity to learn it. When I was young, I worked in the Navy as a doctor, so I know a few things. I wonder if he's some ex-Marine or the son of a high-ranking Marine." Obviously, it wouldn't have occurred to him that Dante was a celestial dragon.
Meanwhile, Antonello was already able to stand and recover from the blow he received, only for Dante to appear with the Mortal Sword in hand. The moment he looked at each other, Dante wasted no time and launched himself with a soru in front of Antonello. Antonello wasn't able to react immediately, causing Dante to break through his guard.
Dante slammed his elbow into Antonello's chest, sending him tumbling backward. He followed close behind, his arms extended forward thanks to the thrust. At that moment, with a 360° vertical spin, his sword sliced through everything: the floor, the wall, the ceiling, and Antonello's outstretched arms.
Antonello momentarily forgot that Dante was actually a swordsman, not a hand-to-hand fighter. His swordsmanship was good enough to cut through iron with relative ease.
The shock was instantaneous. Antonello didn't know what had happened, only to see Dante already launching another attack. He tried to jump to dodge it, but it was too late. The sword was faster, cutting him in two with a horizontal slash.
Once the attack ended, Antonello's body fell to the ground in two halves: from the diaphragm up, he was one part, while from there down, he was another. The chest piece fell back, causing Antonello to stare at the ceiling in disbelief that he lost and would die here, especially with this guy as his killer.
Dante: "I see that the talking tin can only withstand two attacks from my sword," saying this, he proceeds to laugh at his already defeated enemy.
Antonello was never good with words, and now there was no point in saying any last words, especially if his listener was someone who not only didn't listen, but was also delirious.
As Dante vomited near him again, he decided to say one last thing: "Be careful with the Oxfords, they're 100 times worse than us." Before he died, his Devil Fruit deactivated from his body.
The only one who heard his last words was Trini, and with this, the reign of the Veraty mafia family ended.
