I couldn't contain the smile on my face as I saw Mia responding to the treatment. After everything that had happened, seeing her open her eyes, even if just for a moment, felt like a small miracle. I had been so worried, so terrified that I might lose her. She was my sister, my family, and for the longest time, it felt like I was losing her piece by piece. But now… Now there was hope.
As Dr. Michael explained the next steps, I tried to focus, tried to keep myself calm. But it wasn't easy. I was too overwhelmed. Mia was responding, there was finally some movement, some sign that she was still in there. She wasn't gone. She hadn't left me.
And then, just when I thought the moment couldn't get any more intense, I asked a question that had been on my mind for a while. Something that had been eating at me since I found out about Sabrina. I knew I had to ask, even if I wasn't fully prepared for the answer.
