~Micheal's POV
Mia's progress, no matter how small, felt like a breakthrough to me. It wasn't just medical, it was personal. Seeing her fingers twitch, her brain activity slightly increasing, gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward. But I knew I wasn't the only one who needed to hear this. Bella, her sister, deserved to know.
After one last glance at Mia, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and scrolled through my contacts. Bella's name stared back at me, and for a brief moment, I hesitated. I had met her a few times, but I could tell she was fiercely protective of her sister. I had no doubt she would drop everything to be here if there was even a glimmer of hope.
I pressed the call button and put the phone to my ear. It rang twice before she picked up.
"Dr. Michael?" Bella's voice was laced with worry.
"Bella, I wanted to update you on Mia's condition," I said, keeping my voice steady. "There's been some progress."
