Instantly, he was like a plague god, his body emitting a large amount of green gas.
Lower Rank Four could no longer fully envelop Ryuji's head. A massive amount of wood energy surged into her body, wreaking havoc on her cells. The tighter she held Ryuji, the faster her body decayed.
Instinctively, Lower Rank Four wanted to separate.
The reversal of the situation filled her with terror. Against Ryuji in this state, she was completely helpless. Even her strongest techniques were ineffective. A straightforward fight, like with Lower Rank Three, would be even worse.
Fear gave way to a desperate need to escape.
Lower Rank Four abandoned her decaying body, her form receding from Ryuji like a tide.

Instantly, her body disintegrated, completely decaying and crumbling.
The one-hit kill surprised even Ryuji. Lower Rank Four didn't even have a chance to abandon her decaying body; all her cells were destroyed by the wood energy.
Using the Nichirin Blade as a conduit for Wood Invasion was a spontaneous idea. Concentrating the energy on the blade's tip proved far more powerful than a full-body release, instantly disintegrating Lower Rank Four.
Ryuji had successfully unlocked a powerful new technique. After completing this mission, his Wood Breathing skill would reach the Ultimate Technique level, significantly increasing the damage of Wood Invasion: Pierce.
This skill level increase was likely the system's preparation for facing the Upper Ranks.
Wood Breathing had proven incredibly effective in two crucial battles.
Looking at Lower Rank Four's disintegrating body, Ryuji wasn't sure if he could still collect blood. He cautiously used Yushiro's blood collection tool on the desiccated remains.
The tool extracted a small amount of black blood. Ryuji knew the wood energy had destroyed Lower Rank Four's blood cells, and he wondered if this necrotic blood would be of any use to Tamayo's research.
He then noticed a small piece of Lower Rank Three's body hadn't completely disintegrated. Quickly, he inserted the collection tool. Lower Rank Three's death was different; the remaining body part was fresh. The tool immediately drew bright red blood, filling it completely.
Ryuji collected both blood samples. A cat's meow reached his ears.
Yushiro's delivery cat had arrived. As before, Ryuji placed the two blood samples into the cat's small backpack.
The cat, after receiving the blood, swiftly disappeared using Yushiro's Blood Demon Art.
