He drew his blade, creating a dense protective barrier of sword energy, blocking Lower Rank Three's attack.
"Water Breathing, First Form, Surface Slash!"
He instantly drew his blade, attacking Lower Rank Three's neck.
A flash of steel, a splash of water, and the blade swung.
Lower Rank Three, using Shadow Clone, evaded the attack. The blade struck the black mist clone, dissipating it.
The brief exchange was intense.
Lower Ranks Four and Three assessed Ryuji's strength.
"With such strange techniques and skill, it's no wonder you killed Lower Rank Six," Lower Rank Three said seriously, no longer underestimating him.
Ryuji, having assessed their abilities, attacked Lower Rank Three first. Lower Rank Three's neck was an easier target; Lower Rank Four's constantly shifting form made her more difficult.
"Let's work together," Lower Rank Three said to Lower Rank Four.
Having witnessed Ryuji's abilities, Lower Rank Four realized a one-on-one fight could easily end like Lower Rank Six's, opting for a safer approach.
As Ryuji approached, he stumbled, his foot stuck to the ground by a crimson, sticky substance.
He looked at Lower Rank Four, seeing her lower body fused with the ground. The substance holding his ankle was part of her body.
He couldn't use brute force. He attacked the ground.
