I looked from the doctor to Leonard, fearing the worst. Leonard slid his hand on my waist, and gently pulled me back to the bed.
"Tell me, what happened to my baby?" I asked again, pushing Leonard's hand off me. My heart was thumping really fast, while I waited impatiently for the doctor to speak.
"Talk to me." I said again, increasing the volume and urgency of my voice. It was taking him too long to answer, and I was losing it already.
"You're in a very delicate condition, and we are doing all we can to save your unborn child." The doctor explained, and I looked on in shock.
"What's the situation now?" I asked. My voice was calm but I was a total wreck inside.
"It's hard to say at this point but we are doing all we can to restore the safety of your unborn child." The doctor explained, and I wondered what he meant by that.
