Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Ada’s Assistance

Facing Sergei, who had activated the T-virus variant in his body, Aiden had no intention of fighting him head-on. Even though he had now entered a state similar to the Gene Lock, in terms of physical ability, he was still a bit weaker than Sergei.

So, Aiden flicked both hands, and two Beretta 92Fs appeared in his hands. Then he crossed his hands in front of his chest, striking the opening pose of gun kata.

"I told you, guns are useless against me. Even if you used something like an RPG, it wouldn't threaten me." Seeing the stance Aiden took, Sergei shouted loudly and charged toward him with big steps.

"Is that so? Then how about this?" Aiden's eyes sharpened, and both guns in his hands suddenly fired.

At the exact moment Aiden pulled the trigger, a visible aura of radiant light wrapped around the pistols.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Aiden emptied both pistols in one breath, and the bullets fired traced faint white lines through the darkness.

Sergei, whose body could usually ignore direct hits from small- and medium-caliber bullets, was actually pierced by those pistol bullets.

"How is this possible?" Sergei stopped in his tracks, staring in shock at the wounds on his body. Although those wounds healed quickly, he couldn't understand why his powerful body had been penetrated by ordinary handgun bullets.

"How did you do it?" Sergei looked at Aiden and asked in confusion.

Aiden wiped the sweat that suddenly appeared on his forehead with his arm and said, "You don't need to know that."

"Hah, then don't say anything. Once I capture you, I'll know everything." Sergei snarled, his expression twisted. Then with a roar, his body mutated again, growing even larger.

Seeing Sergei charging again, Aiden reloaded and continued shooting. But every time he pulled the trigger, sweat would pour from his body, and his face would grow paler.

In fact, this was a new ability he had just acquired. But it wasn't granted by the Gene Lock. It was a special awakened ability.

When he was struck and sent flying by Sergei, the tremendous impact pushed his already weakened body to the brink of death.

However, he immediately activated a special skill rewarded by the system, Death Counterattack. At the very moment he fell to the ground, all his injuries were healed, and even his stamina was restored.

But when he tried to get back up and fight again, he found his body wouldn't move. Then, an indescribable sensation spread through his entire body. His heart began to beat violently, his blood boiled as if it were on fire, and his brain filled with unfamiliar information.

And when it all ended, the system's voice rang out.

[Host has activated a special ability: Psychokinesis.]

[In an awakened state, using psychokinesis can unleash unexpected effects.]

But in fact, the information in his mind only told him what psychokinesis was. However, in his subconscious, another voice said, 'If only psychokinesis could be attached to bullets, wouldn't that be great…'

So, after waking up, Aiden used this special ability on Sergei for the first time.

And once again, reality proved that this ability was indeed powerful. Even though Sergei's body was strong enough to ignore firearms, under the enhancement of psychokinesis, even ordinary 9mm bullets could easily pierce his tyrant-like body.

However, this ability had one flaw. It consumed the user's mental energy when activated.

And since it was Aiden's first time using it, every shot consumed more of his mental energy. As he kept shooting, his mental energy drained faster, and his face grew paler and paler.

Honestly, this ability was more like a power amplification skill. As long as the user's mental strength was strong enough, the effect would be even greater.

Aiden suddenly remembered a certain game that had a skill called Silver Bullet.

But after all, he had just awakened this ability, so when using it, he couldn't fully unleash its potential. So even though he shot Sergei countless times, he still couldn't completely kill this perfect virus-adapted monster.

"I will not die!" Sergei roared.

Although his body was covered in wounds, not one of them was fatal. Looking at the now deathly pale Aiden, he had already started imagining the scene of his victory.

However, Aiden was blessed by the goddess of fortune.

Under the intense firepower of Aiden, Sergei finally found an opening and managed to catch him. But at that moment, a dazzling beam of light struck Sergei, blasting a huge hole into his body.

"Damn it, this is…"

Sergei cursed, but the effects on his body quickly made him weaken. He could even feel the cells in his body crying out.

He looked up in the direction where the beam came from. There was a three-story building, and standing on the rooftop was a tall woman.

"I'm sorry, but I won't let you hurt him." Ada muttered to herself, then pulled the trigger again, firing more beams toward Sergei.

As a virus-mutated bioweapon, Sergei had no way to resist a linear particle cannon designed specifically to counter B.O.W.s. He could only keep dodging.

But Ada's aim was terrifyingly accurate. Out of every ten shots, at least seven or eight would hit.

The wounds on his body increased, and one of his arms was even blown off completely.

Soon, after being hit dozens of times, Sergei couldn't endure it anymore and turned to flee toward the outskirts of the city.

The linear particle cannon, as a special weapon against bioweapons, was a nightmare for all B.O.W.s. No being could withstand a direct hit from it, not even Alexia.

———

While Aiden was fighting Sergei, Alexia and the others were leading the G-virus fused mutant out of the city.

It wasn't that they didn't want to use the urban terrain to deal with it, but this monster was just too hard to kill.

Yes, even though Wesker used an experimental linear particle cannon, it couldn't deal effective damage to the G-virus fused mutant.

Every time Wesker used the cannon to attack it, it could disintegrate part of the creature's body, but the G-virus fused mutant would immediately regenerate.

There were too many corpses in Roanapur, they became healing packs for the G-virus mutant. Any time it got hurt, it would absorb nearby corpses or mature G-virus hosts to repair its body.

In the chase, the G-virus fused mutant kept growing in size, eventually surpassing 30 meters tall.

The G-virus fused mutant, which was like a small mountain, wasn't slow.

Its tentacles worked like normal legs, propelling it in pursuit of Wesker and Alexia at high speed, easily keeping up with them.

"The thing in your hand is useless against it, Wesker! Its damage is too low, it's nothing like what we had at the Antarctic facility!" Alexia said hatefully, looking at the special weapon in Wesker's hand.

"Are you using a fake?"

"This is the real deal, though only a prototype!" Wesker couldn't allow Alexia to insult HCF and shouted back loudly, "But you've experienced its power. It once caused you serious injury!"

"I'm not feeling it now. We need to think of another way."

"Then tell me, what else can we do?"

"Use a more powerful weapon!" Alexia shouted.

Wesker, "Are you joking? Where am I supposed to get a more powerful weapon?"

Alexia sighed slightly, "Then let's keep running for our lives."

Wesker's prototype linear particle cannon wasn't just ineffective against the G-virus fused mutant.

Its body was made of numerous G-virus creatures fused together. So no matter how strong the cannon was, each shot could only destroy part of it.

So for this enormous creature, even if Wesker pulled the trigger a hundred times, it wouldn't make a difference. Because of the healing packs around, it could replenish itself endlessly.

Moreover, aside from lacking power, this prototype cannon was poorly made. After dozens of consecutive shots, it suddenly began to emit black smoke.

"Aiden, you damn bastard." Seeing this, Wesker froze and couldn't help cursing Aiden again.

If it weren't for him, Ada would never have taken the better cannon.

At that moment, Aiden and his group arrived by car.

"Wesker holds quite the grudge against me, huh?" Hearing Wesker curse, Aiden muttered, "Did I even do anything?"

"Who knows what madness he's on?" Ada didn't understand either.
