Abydos—an academy that, in its time, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with even the likes of Gehenna and Trinity.
Even if the name is unfamiliar, it is no matter. Desertification, a relentless calamity, has long since stripped it of its former glory, rendering its past significance all but forgotten. To be unaware is perfectly understandable.
Why, then, speak of Abydos now?
Word has it that a peculiar toy store has recently opened its doors there.
On the surface, it peddles the usual fare:
Toys and dolls beloved by children. Though, given the stark lack of convenience stores around Abydos these days, it has also begun stocking firearms and ammunition.
One might well ask, what makes this seemingly ordinary place earn such an unusual reputation?
The reason is simple:
Whispers circulate amongst travelers of strange sights beheld near the store—sightings of small, dark figures who suddenly unleash explosive surprises, a colossal Peroro doll, a figure in a crimson coat boasting four arms, or perhaps a musician driven mad by their craft.
Curiosity has, understandably, drawn some to investigate, yet those who went to see for themselves claim to have found nothing out of the ordinary.
Which begs the question:
What is the owner of this establishment doing to cultivate such peculiar tales?
"Please, won't you stop the surveillance and just go back to Millennium?"
"No."
He, it seems, was merely attempting to run his business... while being intently monitored by a certain rather eccentric maid.
