Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Different Hatreds

He greeted Balalaika and Mr. Chang, then started inquiring about the current situation in their city.

"Uptown is almost completely cleaned up. Only a few streets still have monsters. We've sent people there. At most in an hour, we'll be able to purge that area."

"Downtown is a bit troublesome. The people we sent there encountered teams from several forces, and even exchanged fire with one of the squads. But we didn't suffer any losses and retreated. However, the subordinates reported that when they were retreating, the squad they had exchanged fire with started fighting another squad. Those two teams seemed to have a grudge and were fighting fiercely."

"So we're not very clear about that side, but it should be roughly the same as Uptown."

Balalaika spilled all the information she knew in one go.

"Can't you confirm those people's identities?" Aiden was very interested in the identity of the two squads that started fighting, so he asked again.

"No. Both squads were very strong. My subordinates didn't capture anyone." Balalaika said.

"Alright." Aiden nodded in understanding. But in his heart, he already vaguely guessed the identities of those two squads.

Wolf Team and Echo Six Squad.

The two elite special ops teams that had clashed in Raccoon City.

However, Wolf Team entering Roanapur didn't surprise him, because Ada had already told him. But what made him curious was, why did the Echo Six Squad come as well?

At this moment, he suddenly recalled the old nun named Yolandahe had met before at the Rip Off Church.

'No no no…' Aiden shook his head. 'She doesn't have the ability to invite the Echo Six Squad. There must be someone else, and it must be someone high up in Country M's government.'

As he was sorting out his thoughts, he suddenly heard Roberta shout, "Who's there?!"

Then, the sound of Roberta's handgun rang out. She fired furiously in one direction. The crisp sound of gunfire drew everyone's attention.

Then, everyone saw a scene they would never forget.

Just over ten meters away from them, at some unknown time, appeared a well-dressed man in a suit. He had neatly combed blond hair and wore sunglasses even at night, looking extremely flamboyant.

But this wasn't the main reason for their shock.

The man in sunglasses was dodging Roberta's shots with movement speed that was nearly teleportation-like.

Bang bang bang…

Even after Roberta emptied all the bullets from her extended-mag handgun, she didn't hit him once.

'How is that possible?' A rare expression of disbelief appeared on Roberta's always-cold face.

"He actually dodged bullets at such close range." Revy was also stunned by this scene. She knew how accurate Roberta's shooting was. Even with a handgun, at night, she could still accurately shoot zombies in the head from dozens of meters away.

What surprised her even more was that the man in the sunglasses and suit had speed that was almost inhuman.

"Who are you?" Balalaika asked in a daze. She raised the gun in her hand and aimed it at the man in sunglasses.

"Albert Wesker." The one who answered her was Aiden. He walked out from the crowd and looked at the sunglasses man, pronouncing his name word by word.

A man who could dodge bullets at several times the speed of sound.

"Long time no see, Aiden."

Upon hearing Aiden say his name, Wesker took off his sunglasses, revealing a pair of golden eyes.

"Yeah, it's been a while since Raccoon City." Aiden nodded, then asked, "Are you here to kill me? But I think you're not. With your current strength, if you wanted to kill me, you would've done it a long time ago. No need to wait for a situation like this."

"You're right." Wesker walked forward a few steps, but it made Revy and the others nervously raise their guns.

"Don't be afraid, and don't be nervous, my friends." Wesker raised a finger and gently waved it at them. "I have no ill will toward you, or rather, no ill will for now. Also, the weapons in your hands are useless against me. You saw just now, if I wanted, I could leave here easily."

But even though he said that, Revy, Roberta, and the others didn't lower their guns. They didn't want to gamble on whether he was telling the truth or not.

"Alright, up to you." Wesker shook his head helplessly, but still stopped in his tracks and even stepped back a bit.

Although he could dodge bullets, he wasn't truly invincible. If the bullet density was high enough, he wouldn't be able to dodge everything. He could still get injured, it's just that he wouldn't die as easily as a normal person.

"Explain your purpose, Wesker. You didn't come here just to chat with me, right?" Aiden said.

In fact, ever since Ada told him that Wesker had entered Roanapur and had even brought along the Wolf Team that defected to H.C.F, Aiden had already understood, Wesker didn't come for him.

With the grudges between them, if Wesker wanted to take action, he would've done so on the first day he entered, not wait until Aiden found out.

"My purpose?" Wesker raised his sunglasses and looked at them, then continued, "Roughly speaking, I need your help."

"Roughly? My help?" Aiden was a bit confused.

Wesker put his sunglasses back on and said, "Yeah. Although I already have a new employer, because I didn't handle some things well last time, they're unwilling to give me much support. So I can only come to you."

"What can I help you with?" Aiden asked, then immediately realized something. He recalled something Ada had said.

"You want me to deal with Alexia together with you?" Aiden frowned.

"Looks like you really do have some capabilities, Aiden. You actually know her." Wesker gave him a surprised look.

"I have my own information sources." Aiden thought of the game plot he had played before.

"If that's the case, then I'll just be straightforward." Wesker said, "Last time, I went to the Antarctic research facility, wanting to kill her before she completely fused with the virus. But unfortunately, I was too late. Although I used the linear particle cannon left behind by her father, my former superior, Mr. Alexander, to injure her, leaving her body with a small defect, it was a pity, I still wasn't her match."

"A few months ago, I heard that besides the Africa division, Umbrella's division in Country M also split off. That's when I knew Alexia had gone to Country M and forcefully took control of the division there. Although the current Umbrella branch in Country M has shrunk a lot due to government surveillance, I don't know what method she used, but she got some high-ranking congressmen to jointly protect the branch."

"So you want to eliminate her and also completely collapse Umbrella's branch in Country M?" Aiden asked.

Wesker nodded, "Exactly."

"But why are you looking for me?" Aiden asked. "Also, how did you find me?"

"Well." Wesker said, "That brings us to another founder of Umbrella."

"Oswell E. Spencer."

———

While Aiden and Wesker were conversing, another pair of golden eyes was watching them from a tall building.

"Sis, what are we waiting for? Let's just go kill them now." Her brother, Alfred Ashford, growled.

"My foolish brother, don't be in such a rush. Not everyone has arrived yet." Alexia said without even glancing at him.

"But it's because of him that Umbrella became so fractured. It's also because of him that your body was left with a flaw." Alfred gritted his teeth, his eyes full of twisted madness. He couldn't bear his sister suffering even the slightest grievance.

"No one is perfect. Since I've become like this, then it must be the will of God." Alexia said. Then she closed her eyes, crossed her hands in front of her chest, as if sensing something. Suddenly, a smile appeared on Alexia's lips. Then she abruptly opened her eyes.

"The ones I was waiting for, they've all arrived." She murmured.

As soon as she finished speaking, in the sky, several helicopters roared in. And on the ground, multiple convoys appeared.

Their destination was all the same, the Moscow Hotel.

Their arrival interrupted the conversation between Aiden and Wesker and made Balalaika, Mr. Chang, and the others look grim.

Balalaika walked behind Aiden. Her height was about the same as his, so she leaned directly to his ear and said, "If you guys are going to fight later, could you move to another place? My place can't handle too much damage."

"Don't worry, there probably won't be too much destruction." Aiden turned his head as he spoke, but his ear accidentally brushed against Balalaika's lips.

"Ahem!" Aiden coughed a little awkwardly, but when he saw Balalaika's face with no emotional fluctuation, he could only continue, "Besides, this matter already has nothing to do with you. If a fight does break out later, just stay far away."

"With you saying that, I can rest easy." Balalaika nodded and started to walk back to the crowd. But after a few steps, she turned back around, raised her hand to her lips, blew him a small kiss, and said in a low voice, "You were just blushing."

"Uh!" Aiden scratched his head, but a sudden stir rose in his heart. But now wasn't the time to think about that. As large numbers of people got out of the helicopters and vehicles, the atmosphere suddenly grew tense.

Especially Aiden, he noticed someone in the Wolf Team was staring at him, even through a mask. He could still feel those eyes full of ill intent.

And that woman, was none other than Bertha, the one he had once kicked. This woman had held that grudge all the way till now.
