We both realized what we did— I just agreed to be her boyfriend and she agreed to be my girlfriend. I just wish this day would get better.
We walked out of the kitchen with our fingers laced together like we belonged to each other. Surprisingly stephany had finished with her… whatever she was doing.
Jeremy and Stephany's face lit up, like they had just watched their favorite team win and we were the trophy. It was all new and kinda weird but… I feel good and I know I won't regret it.
"Are you guys…," Jeremy said.
"Like together?," stephany said, completing Jeremy's question.
"Yeah we are, and am pretty sure the hand can tell you that," I said, looking at bianca with a smile. Bianca was giving a shy smile or will i say, blushing.
Jeremy ran towards me with a hug and took me up like I scored the goal the team needed to win the game.
"Yeah, that's my man, I've been waiting for you to get this over with," he said, his tone was filled with joy.
I mean Jeremy is my best friend so I get why his this happy.
Stephany just walked towards bianca with a hug and a warm smile.
"Congratulations am really happy for you," Stephany said.
"Thank you, am really happy it didn't end badly or the other way round," bianca said with the both of them chuckling about it.
I and Jeremy just stood there looking at them and the way they acted.
"Why can't you just act like that dude," I said
"Dude, we're guys not girls," Jeremy said.
"Alright, come on guys we only got eight hours till prom, and I have a long conversation with your dad stephany," Jeremy said.
"Yeah, I mean this isn't a wedding or anything, we have to get moving," I said.
"Thank you," Jeremy said.
We all went outside and got into the car, I think I was already forgetting what happened in the parking lot last night and for me, that's a good thing.
We finally got to the restaurant. The restaurant had a warm, laid-back vibe— dim lighting, wooden tables with little candles flickering in glass jars, and soft music playing in the background, the waitors wore black white T-shirts and black trousers.
We walked towards the hostess and she had a beautiful smile, Jeremy talked to her and we were invited inside and shown our table but to our surprise there were two tables booked for us. After all we just ordered bread and water, I mean come on,we we're trying to put on our best behavior.
Finally stephany's dad arrived, he was 6'2, had beards and he looked like he was a body builder in his young times.
He walked to us and of course we stood, I mean imagine the man.
"Hey kids, how are you doing," he said, he shook me and jeremy's hand and hugged Stephany and Bianca.
"We're good," we said.
"Ok, order what you think is necessary and don't worry, I'll pay," he said.
" uhmm, thank you sir," we said.
"Ok, since that's cleared, come over to the other table, Jeremy right?," he said.
"Yeah… yeah… I mean…at least I think," Jeremy said,trying to find the right words without messing it up before it starts.
Stephany's dad left us to go to the other table.
"Don't worry, you'll do great, just don't feel intimidated— and remember I love you," Stephany said with her voice full of concern.
"Yeah, you got this dude, you went cliff diving dude, you're a lion walking into a lion's den… I mean your den though not his," I said.
"Not helping dude," he said.
"I think you should get going, I don't think it's wise to keep him waiting," bianca said.
"You're right guys, I got this, I am the lion," Jeremy said with confidence.
I don't know if it was only me that was thinking—He's cooked, he's gonna mess it up.
"Yeah, good luck dude," I said.
We watched from a distance, hoping Jeremy doesn't mess it up.
"The conversation looks like it's going great, right?," I said.
"I hope it is," Stephany said with concern, it was like she was nervous.
I knew she loves Jeremy but, I didn't think she loved him that bad. It was like she needed her dad to approve so badly.
"Look their laughing, that has to be a good thing right?," bianca said.
"I guess so… wait are they shaking hands?," I said,my face probably said it all—pure surprise.
"Yes, I think they agreed, wow it's kinda weird when you put it that way," Stephany said.
Jeremy stood up and so did Stephany's dad and they hugged and Stephany's dad dropped a piece of paper on the table and he left—I guess he had somewhere to be.
Jeremy walked straight Stephany and kissed her—no hesitation. I'd never seen him look that happy in a relationship. Like the weight of the world had just slid off his shoulders.
"So, what happened dude," I said my body shaking with curiosity.
"Well your dad was kinda hard at the beginning," Jeremy said.
"Yeah, we saw,get to the good part," I said.
"Fine, your dad approved us," Jeremy said looking at stephany with a smile and Stephany hugged him.
"Yes," I yelled.
"Sorry, nothing to see here people just enjoy your food, the food is lovely," I said.
"Oh, your dad gave me money to pay for what you ordered," Jeremy said.
Looking at the table, we didn't order anything aside from bread and chips and I'm happy we didn't.
"Well, at least we only pay for the bread and chips now," bianca said.
Jeremy put the money on the table.
"Let's get out of here guys," Jeremy said with a chuckle.
The idea was for Jeremy to meet up with stephany's dad and then we go home and get ready for prom.
We're going to meet exactly how we met earlier today. That was the plan.
