Chapter 13 - Another world.

Her phone rang. She answered it.

" Yes. I'm well aware of that."

She then listened for a bit.

" I have the situation under control. You don't have to send that scumbag here to handle what I can easily do."

" You call that arrogance I call it being wise."

" I don't care what those old hags have to say. You know what, tell them that unless they want to deal with something worse than an awakening, they should just shut up and shove their orders up their ass!" She immediately cut the call.

She let out a loud sigh and rested her head on the desk.

" Now I know why the old man hated them so much."

She looked over at the top right edge of the desk. There was a framed picture. A picture of her and Kane when he was young. In it, both of them wore stylish black suits though with different coloured ties. She sat on what looked more like a king's throne with Kane sitting on her lap. Both of them looked happy. Both of them were happy.

Elizabeth took the picture and looked at it.

" Oh Julia, if only I could change how things were. And after you struggled so hard to get him out of a life of constant fear ."

Elizabeth banged her head on the desk continuosly.

" How do I even tell you that.."Something got her attention.

She stood from her chair and went on to open the curtains of the window that was behind her. She wore an expression of horror as she witnessed the sky painting itself midnight blue with the vast amount of stars enveloping the whole sky. Night had dawned upon the land almost instantly.

Sensing something wrong, Elizabeth prepared to transform. Her eyes glowed bizzarely white and her hair turned white from top to bottom. Sparks formed around her, her mark beginning to burn brighter. She closed the curtains and opted to exit the room. Just as she took hold of the door knob...

< ENTER MY WORLD>

Elizabeth felt something change. She looked back at her room. Elizabeth almost flipped at what she saw. The room was completely different. The desk she had had been replaced by one of a lighter shade of brown. On it was a typewriter, sheets of brownish paper, a quill pen and ink. Her office chair having been replaced by by wooden one that had been adorned with red silk. Her shelf didn't bear much difference except for the nature of books that were on it.

The black couch she had in the office was gone, replaced by a small desk that was lit by an orange bulb. Elizabeth, out of panic went over at the window and opened the curtains. What she saw made her jaw drop. Horse carriages, stone paved streets and compact houses. Either she was high or she had just been transported to the Victorian Era or somrthing like that.

She heard someone open the door and instantly deactivated her transformation.

" Miss Thorn, I would like you to review some of these documents for me." The lady that had got in had red hair thet had been braided at the back. Adorning her hair was a blue ribbon that rested at the base of the braid. She had creamy beige skin and some freckles at the top part of her cheeks. Her eyes were red, large and well rounded. Her rosy lips would shape up each word before she spoke. She wore a long blue dress that hid her feet and had quite the height. In her hands were some documents that Thorn had to look at.

Elizabeth turned around and she could identify her. It was Madeline, her secretary. Elizabeth looked at her in awe as she could not believe what Madeline was wearing. Though on further inspecting herself, she found herself wearing the same thing. Only hers was black.

" Miss Thorn, is everthing alright? You seem troubled."

Elizabeth could't help but turn serious.

" Madeline, I need you to answer me truthfully."

" I don't seem to understand where you're going with this but okay." Madeline said with uncertainty.

" Where are we and what year is it."

Madeline answered almost instantly.

" Why we are at Treston, the capital of the Kingdom of Barvia. As for the year. Well, it's the four hundred and fiftieth cosmic year." After answering, she looked at Elizabeth who was visibly terrified.

" Why do you ask. Are you sure everything's okay?"

" Even I'm not sure of that." Elizabeth replied.

From The Observers Project.
