Catherine's POV
I walked up the stairs, my heart lingering on the image of myself. That wasn't me. It can't be me.
The sudden noise snapped me out of my reverie, and I turned to see her picking the bag of drugs from the floor.
I kept walking, lost in my thoughts. There were so many rooms, and I had no idea which one was mine.
"This way, ma'am," the lady said, gently taking my arm and guiding me back to the third room I had just passed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. It's been days since I came back home, so I just wanted to look at the other rooms," I said, trying to hide how uneasy I felt.
"That isn't bad, ma. But I think you need rest. Maybe later, you would have the luxury of time to check out things. Everything is just same as always," she said, leading me into this big room that had a touch of red and white.
My favourite colours. I took in the scent of my favourite strawberry fragrance hovering in the room.
