"What happened? Why are you glaring at me since morning? Huh? Did i do something wrong? Are you angry on me?"
She sighed softly and looked away. "No. You didn't do anything wrong. I am not angry on you."
"Then what happened? Why are you looking in a bad mood? In library too, you were glaring at me like I did a sin."
Hearing 'library' Ira remembered how Raksheet was trying to flirt with her infront of their elders. She again looked at him with narrow eyes.
"By the way, what were you trying to do in library?"
Raksheet looked at her confused. He was too busy whole day that he forgot about it. The only thing was roaming in his mind was Ira's eyes glaring at him.
"What was i trying to do?"
"Try to remember." Ira said. She thought he is feigning. He again want to annoy her.
Raksheet tried to recall what happened in library. As he remembered what Ira is talking about, his lips curved in a smirk. He looked at her with mischief in his eyes.
He tried to reach her hand "I now remember. I was just trying to hold my wife's hand." He said in a husky voice, trying to seduce his wife.
He almost reached her hand and was about to hold it but she again slapped his hand, making him groan dramatically.
"Ouch.....It hurts." He said, rubbing his hand.
"Infront of everyone?" She asked.
"So what? You are my wife, i am your husband, then What's wrong in holding hands?" He simply asked.
"Don't you feel shy doing this infront of your parents?" She asked, feeling shy.
"No. This is what they want, so why do i have to feel shy?"
She looked at him confused. Reading her expression, Raksheet spoke in a soft voice "They wanted to see me with my wife. They wanted me to love and care for my wife. Having someone beside me, Holding her hand...." He held Ira's hand but she didn't protested, Raksheet's soft voice made her forget her anger and annoyance she was having.
"I should protect her from every crisis. And trust me, they feel more happy than me whenever they see us together. This is what they wanted to see. You and me together, happy. That's why i want our relationship to grow more." He looked at her hand and caressed the back of her hand with his thumb.
Ira's eyes were stuck on him. She don't know how to reply. A unknown feeling was growing in her heart. Raksheet's touch, his voice, his words, everything is pure. His gentle behaviour always convince her to trust him and made her feel to keep him always happy.
Raksheet is right, his parents and grandparents looks more happy than them whenever they see Ira and Raksheet together. Raksheet with his life partner, living a happy married life was all his parents wanted for him, apart from him being a king someday.
He kissed the back of her hand but she quickly pulled her hand back, her heart was racing faster than ever. Raksheet has touched her hand and kissed it before too. But everytime he do this, she can't control her heartbeat. She feel shy whenever he touch her.
Ira looked away to avoid eye contact with Raksheet.
He chuckled. He didn't said anything because he thought she is uncomfortable because of him.
To erase the awkwardness, Ira spoke.
"I wanted to ask you something."
Raksheet looked at her and nod innocently "Yeah sure."
She didn't wanted to appear disrespectful towards her grandfather-in-law, Abhiveera, so she first apologized for what she is going to talk about.
"I am sorry if i am being disrespectful or being too personal, but may i know who is that special person in grandfather's life. And does grandmother know about it?" Her eyes were filled with curiosity and worry, waiting for the answer eagerly.
Does Raksheet know who that special person is? And if he knows, doesn't he have any problem? Don't he care about his grandmother? If he knows about it and doesn't mind then there is no doubt that he can do the same with Ira. And she can't bear it.
Raksheet looked at her for a while. Her expressions are serious, She is still thinking about it. Is she worried for grandmother? Is she thinking something she shouldn't? is she worried because may be grandfather is cheating on grandmother?
He started laughing, guessing every possible thing that Ira can think.
She looked at him confused. She thought her husband had gone crazy all of a sudden.
"Why are you laughing?!" She asked, feeling annoyed by Raksheet's behaviour.
He tried to hold back his laugh "Because of your question."
"Why? Did i asked something wrong?" She asked, rethinking about her questions and trying to find a mistake that made her husband laugh.
"Not exactly. But what were you thinking when you asked this question?"
She fell silent, she didn't want to tell him what she was thinking. If she tells him, he will either get angry or get a new topic to tease her.
"Just answer my question. Don't question back." She insisted, avoiding to answer his question.
"Ok ok. Don't be angry. I am answering your questions." He sat down straight on bed, facing her.
She straighten her posture as well, to hear carefully.
"It's nothing like what you are thinking." He explained.
She narrowed her eyes "How you know what i am thinking?"
"It's obvious from your question." He simply replied. "You thought grandfather was cheating on grandmother, didn't you?" He asked with a questioning look but there was no anger on his face.
She felt guilty for thinking something like this for Abhiveera, and her biggest mistake is asking about it to Raksheet. Abhiveera's grandson. but why he is not angry? He should scold her for thinking something like this about his grandfather. But instead of yelling at her, he is speaking gently.
Ira gulped and slowly nod her head.
Raksheet again laughed "You are so adorable."
She felt shy when he called her adorable. Her cheeks started getting red, feeling shy as well as embarrassed.
'Ah, his straight forward nature will kill me someday!' She screamed in her mind.
"You are the best granddaughter-in-law. You care for grandmother so much." He said, leaving her speechless.
What he is saying? Isn't he angry?
He held her hand "I am happy to see your concern for grandmother. But you don't have to."
She looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. He himself don't care about his grandmother and now, he don't want Ira to care either.
"Because grandmother know about that special person and she don't have any problem." He finally gave the answer of her question.
Ira's eyes widened in shock as well in confusion. If grandmother know about it then why she don't have any problem? How can a wife be ok with her husband having someone more important than her?
"She know about it?" She asked hesitantly.
Raksheet nod with a reassuring smile. "She know about it. She already know about this before their marriage. Grandfather already told her. And somehow, that special person is the reason grandfather and grandmother got married. They are together and happy because of that special person."
"How?" She inquired.
He chuckled to see the investigator hidden in his wife slowly coming out. "I think you are too curious to know about it." He teased her.
She immediately looked away and normalised her expression "No! I am not. I wanted to know because i was worried for grandmother. That's it!" She answered confidently but Raksheet is sensible enough to read her mind. In such a short time, he started to know her behaviour.
"Ok, don't sulk. Look at me." He held her chin and made her look at him.
Suddenly, Ira felt butterflies in her stomach because of his sudden touch. Her breath hitched.
"Soon you will know everything about that special person. Grandfather will tell you by himself. So don't think much and don't stress yourself." He removed his hand from her chin. "You should sleep now. It's late. And you must be tired thinking about that special person all day. You should take care of your health. Do you have any medicine to take?"
She shook her head in no. She is eating a fake medicine her grandfather gave her to make everyone trust that she indeed have health issues.
"Fine. Now sleep and don't think much." He pulled the sheets up to cover her body.
She nod in consent and laid down.
He covered her body with sheet and laid down next to her. He was about to close his eyes when something clicked in his mind. He turned his head towards Ira and smirked.
There is a mischief in his mind again.
He turned towards Ira, moving closer to her. He was about to wrap his hand around her waist but....
"Stop." Ira said. She opened her eyes and looked at Raksheet in his eyes "What are you doing?" She asked strictly.
He pulled his hand back "I wanted to hug my wife. Can i ?" He asked with a pitiful face so that Ira would show some pity on him and let him hug her all night. but nothing happened as he planned.
"No." She replied, turning to other side, back facing Raksheet.
He hung his head down in disappointment. He rolled on his side, away from her
She turned her head towards him, just to see her husband back facing her and hugging his knees. Looking like a lonely boy whom no one love.
She controlled her laugh, seeing her husband behaving like a five year old kid who just got scolding from his parents and now thinking that no one loves him. She turned her head back and spoke.
"Don't hug me...but you can sleep close to me."
Hearing her suggestion, his ears perked up. He quickly turned around and moved toward her. A big smile appeared on his face. "For now, that's enough for me." He whispered.
Ira smiled, seeing how patient her husband is. She want to take a step forward in their relationship, she want to give everything Raksheet want but she is shy as well as afraid to not make any mistake. Because this mistake can cause a big fuss.
