Anna's father arrived at the mansion where he was living with his grandchildren and was welcomed by them. Their joy was contagious, and he let himself stay there with them. He took great pleasure in their company and loved them more than anything in the world. However, he knew that the twins, David and Donald, didn't have the same potential as Ian and Tayme. It was obvious that they weren't human either, but... They would probably follow in Maxwell's footsteps and moral standards, and that made them useless to him professionally. They weren't fit to run the empire he had built, and the one he planned to steal from Alpha. There was no denying that they were intelligent, but they wouldn't know how to run an empire of obedient werewolves and an entire world of mafia. Anna needed to give Adam a son. That was all it took for him to achieve absolute power. For a while, he considered using Ian, but realized that his grandson was more valuable as an ally than as a hostage. That's why his will benefited Ian for the most part, seventy percent. The rest would be divided between his daughter and his other grandchildren. However, he made his motives clear in his will, and that his love for them was the same.
Max and Adam's mother, Suzy, came in to join in the children's games, Anna's father asked for Jenna and learned that she was still having coffee, so leaving the grandchildren in the care of their paternal grandmother and the attentive nannies, he went to meet his wife. He sat down at the table opposite her and poured himself a cup of coffee.
"You're up early." Jenna observed.
"I went to sort out an old matter..."
"And were you successful?"
"Yes. As always."
Jenna smiled tenderly at him.
"That's good, my dear. But now we need to talk about us."
"I'm all ears."
"Are we going to take up permanent residence here? Because if the answer is yes, I think it's about time we found a corner of our own where we could have more privacy. We have no reason to stay under the same roof with families that have already formed. There's no point in living like this. You could get a place near here, so it doesn't get tiresome visiting your grandchildren every day.
"You're very perceptive, Jenna. I've been thinking about it too, and I've even got a place nearby, and I'd like to take you there, to look around and see if it's to your liking..."
Jenna's face filled with joy.
"Can we go today?"
"First, I want to spend a few hours with you in our room, and after lunch, once we've spoken to Anna on the video link, we'll go out. I think my daughter would like to see you."
"I miss her too... Fate has caused us to miss each other, but I hope we'll soon be able to meet again in person."
"Destiny is nothing more than the harvest of what we plant and sow along the way..."
"You're sounding like a philosopher today... Jenna said, laughing delightedly. "So, shall we go to the bedroom? I can't wait for you..."
The two of them climbed the stairs and were already in the bedroom, loving each other like two teenagers. Jenna realized that Anna's father wasn't just inspired by words. And the enthusiasm and dedication with which he made love to her led her to have several orgasms.
...
Anna also went to her room after Kate left and threw herself on the bed. She thought about it. She needed to do something for Jenna, and she felt it was more than a feeling of affection, it was a feeling of obligation. She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, she decided to go outside, to look at the anxiety of the werewolves surrounding the house, it seemed like a good distraction from her own problems.
She saw Adonis talking and laughing with Caricature and Mycon, and even though she found it strange that they could laugh under the current circumstances, she approached them.
Before she could get close, Adonis turned around and saw her. He abandoned the other werewolves and came to meet her.
"Anna! Are you all right?"
"I... I thought the werewolves would be worried and..."
"There's only one worry, Anna." He said and lowered his voice. "I know how to save Jenna."
"You want a price, for that, Adonis, and as you yourself have guessed, I'm going to exhaust all other options, first."
"Anna, Adam told your father, let Jenna live... But without both hands. Do you think she'll be better off that way? Then ask him." Adonis said and turned around, but Anna grabbed his arm.
She was frightened. That wasn't an acceptable solution. She had to avoid it.
"When are they going to do this?"
"They won't be gentle. You know Adam likes to torture. It's his favorite sport. She's going to suffer a lot."
"Tell me when, Adonis!" Anna was desperate.
He looked at the watch on his wrist.
"In less than thirty minutes."
Anna put her hand to her mouth. She didn't have time. Jenna didn't have time. Tears streamed down her face.
"E... Can you save her from this fate? Can you get her out, without anyone noticing and before they hurt her?"
"Yes. I can. Henry took her to the basement and I know a tunnel that leads there."
Anna frowned in confusion.
"A tunnel? That goes from here on the farm, to where my family is living?"
"Yes."
"But that doesn't make any sense!"
"Do you want to stand here arguing about the meaning of things, or do you want to save Jenna?"
Anna bit her lower lip thoughtfully.
"Then go. Get her out of there unharmed, and I'll... I'll do whatever you want."
"No, Anna. First you do what I want."
"We don't have time now!"
"Yes. We do. I'm fast."
Anna looked around.
"Do you want to do this in the chapel?"
"No. Get in the car." He said and when Anna turned to him, Adonis was pointing to the jeep, which she hadn't realized was there before.
She got in. She knew they had to be quick and she didn't have much time to think about her actions.
