I could sense the urgency from her to get a negative answer and I wasn't going to let that happen. I want to annoy her. I want to piss her off.
I want to make her regret ever being mean to me without even getting to know me.
"Yes, we are in a romantic relationship," I said, grinning widely.
"What?" She looked like I just said some atrocity. She didn't want to believe me.
I bet if Grace wasn't watching, she may have tried to force the answer she wanted to hear out of me.
"What? Why are you so shocked?" I asked curiously and innocently.
She glared at me for a while, as if looking to be sure I was telling the truth. I could see the hurt in her eyes. Who was she? Was she Carl's ex girlfriend or...?
Maybe that's why he never wanted me to come, maybe they are still intimate because the reaction from this girl is beyond just a colleagues reaction when being told that her boss is dating a woman.
