Chapter 38
"I don't know why I am doing this right now. This isn't formal, not at all. But I just sense that I should do this. I am a Christian, a practicing Christian and I am primarily led by God's spirit so I shouldn't want to do something against what I sense in my spirit and that's why I approved that you would join Lieutenant Summer's team" The general said as his eyes dart between I, Carl and the Colonel.
"Thank you very much sir" I said continuously.
I couldn't stop showing my gratitude to him because I consider this a rare privilege, I knew it's very unlikely for a mere civilian to be given the assignment of a military personnel to carry out but it happened.
I looked at Carl and he looked very pissed. He just couldn't even look me in the eyes, he was restlessly pacing as his father said all of those words.
"Sir, please can I speak to you for a moment?" Carl insisted as soon as he stopped pacing.
