===================================

"Why did you abandon me, Master?"

Finally, across countless worlds, I've found you again, Master.

Look, Ikaros is amazing, right?

So amazing… as expected of Ikaros' Master. Or maybe… Ikaros is still too weak?

Ugh—! Huh?

[Body damage at 75%. Power output has dropped to 3%... Unable to initiate recovery.]

[Apollon, unable to supply energy—cannot activate.]

[Uranus System, activation failed.]

[Artemis: 321 units remaining, able to deploy.]

[Warning… Warning…]

I see… Ikaros lost, huh? But that's okay. Just being able to see you again, Master, that's enough!

The artificial angel, Ikaros, is finally about to shut down.

Why is it… even though the power core in my chest has already stopped functioning, it feels like something else is malfunctioning, something's clogged.

I don't understand… Master, do you know why?

Where are you, Master? I can't see you anymore!

Why do I feel so unwilling… what does it mean to feel "unwilling"?

No… Master… Ikaros still wants to be with you. Please… no matter what it takes, Ikaros is willing… no matter what I have to become, as long as I can stay by your side…

[All systems shutting down in 10… 9… 8…]

Don't shut down… please…

Maybe this is Ikaros' punishment—for acting without orders from Master, for even attacking Master...

[3… 2… 1]

Goodbye… Master.

All will be swallowed by darkness. Consciousness will fade.

[Magic supply received. Initiating self-repair!]

In that moment, Ikaros' consciousness was enveloped in an inexplicable light.

"Where… am I?"

The owner of the consciousness was a girl—a girl with a heart pure as a newborn child—who now found herself in a strange environment.

Everywhere she looked, there were transparent cylindrical containers—some held parts of giant dragons, others parts of angels, mythical beasts, fairies… even whole beings.

Looking around the environment, it was pure white, bathed in divine light.

But amidst this sacred space… such things existed. It was eerie and unnatural.

Just then, a horrifying scream drew the girl's attention. Her blurry vision—was she inside one of those cylindrical containers too? Is that why her vision was unclear?

She saw beings dressed in divine robes—no, they were gods. Yes, based on the memory data from other battle-type angels, she recognized them—gods, forcibly merging different species into a single one.

Pop—!

Like a bubble bursting… that's what became of those hybrid creatures.

"Trash gods…"

A voice of utter contempt rang out—so close, right next to her. Wait… it sounded like she had spoken?

The next second, as if alerted to her presence, the god began walking toward her.

That god wore a gentle, compassionate smile—by human standards, he looked like a benevolent deity, the embodiment of justice and love.

"Lord God-King, No. 7 appears to be a success. The subsequent numbered subjects are also developing normally."

The speaker was an angel with three pairs of wings standing beside the god.

"Who would've thought those fast-reproducing monkey-like creatures had such high compatibility? Have No. 7 proceed to the next dragon pearl fusion. And be careful—don't let the Dragon God find out. It's not time for full-scale war yet."

"Understood, My Lord."

Then, the girl found herself being taken out of the container. She got a look at her body—it was a dragonkin? Physically, she looked like a human child, maybe three or four years old.

She was brought to a strange altar, bound to it. As the altar's magic circle activated, a pearl crackling with lightning slowly approached her. One of her eyes was covered—

"Ngh…!"

A suppressed moan of pain finally escaped her lips.

[Damn it… damn it… just wait… one day, I'll make you filthy gods suffer in hell!!!]

Was this insanity? No—it was a mental defense mechanism. Imagining something to distract herself, as if falling into an illusion, to divert her attention from the pain.

In the blink of an eye, the scene changed. The pure white space became drenched in blood.

The girl saw herself grab an angel and tear its wings off, then toss them into a bizarre pool. Swarms of fist-sized creatures swarmed in, viciously devouring the remains.

Looking through the murky water, the girl saw herself.

"Master?"

He looked just like the Master in her memories—only about five or six years younger. Especially that one eye marked with a black lightning-shaped scar that ran across the eyelid and iris—proof that this herself was truly Master.

What's going on?

How did she end up inside Master's body? Why is Master younger?

Then, several more scenes played out. The girl realized—she was seeing Master's memories.

"This is No. 77? The All-Purpose Analytical Mystic Eye? The rate of world-origin parsing is still so slow… come on… I'll devour this world's root soon enough!!!"

Master sat on a throne, muttering words she didn't understand.

In front of him knelt many figures—some of whom Ikaros recognized from battle angel memory data—they were demon kings, top generals of the Demon King Army.

Most of them had already been executed by Master. They had plotted to seize Master's Demon King throne, or acted on someone else's orders.

Even now, one of them tried to report something—only to suddenly launch a sneak attack—only to be instantly reduced to ashes by Master's lightning.

The scene changed again. Master acted a little suspiciously. He entered his room and told everyone not to disturb him for the next few days.

Then, she saw Master pull out a stack of books and illustration volumes from a spatial item.

"Which one should I read today? This one… I've read it over three thousand times already? Damn, it's almost ending. Wait, is the plot right? Maybe I got it wrong? Should I rewrite it? Aaaah, screw this… someone just isekai me already…"

Master became… strange. Not the one she knew from her data.

"Maybe I should write a better ending myself? Ahhhh, where on Earth is Earth? I want to play new games… watch new anime…"

As Master became more and more unstable, the girl finally understood—this world wasn't Master's home. He had always wanted to go back.

Just like how she longed to see Master again… Master longed to return to his home—someone or something there he missed.

Then she saw the memory of her creation—how Master used magic to present her final, beautiful form, talking to her every day. Even though her consciousness hadn't fully awakened yet, it seemed she had remembered his words—enough to mold herself into his imagined ideal.

[Memory module has reached its limit. Please exit immediately.]

The warning rang out. The girl—Ikaros—understood now. The new magical energy powering her core came from Master's dragon pearl, which also stored his past memories.

Now, she felt… uneasy? What is "uneasy"? She didn't understand—but she knew one thing:

It wasn't that Master abandoned her on purpose. Master didn't even know what had happened to her. Maybe… maybe she had done something wrong?

Her body was waking up now.

How… should she speak to Master?
