"Fel! Fel!" Jenn and I took off towards that end of the trail. The papers ended then, on a pool of blood. I was in conflict whether I should cover Jenn's eyes or mine. Fuck. Felicity's head hung low and blood still drained from her body to the ground. Her body was several feet above ours. It looked like her body had been put through a-
"Jenn! Venice!" Tim's voice rang through the air and I called back. Jenn couldn't seem to get anything out. She got on her knees her head facing down. I pointed the torch away from her and put it up towards Fel's dead body. I helped my friend away from the pool of blood and the boys had catch up to us and held is both away from us.
I could tell from the arms wrapped around me that it was Q. Just when I wanted to let it all out, I heard him say:
"I'm sorry. I couldn't I'm sorry- V I am so sorry." He said and his voice cracked and the hold around me tightened. I burrowed my head in his chest and stayed there. The weight and anxiety faded away just as fast as they had consumed me. Jenn's sobs filled the air around us as Tim spoke on the phone.
Then those words:
You need to be more aware of you surroundings, my unwanted opinion? Might be someone unnoticed that's around you more often than you think.
Looks like more of an admirer than a stalker to me.
I don't know what hit me then, disgust or just mere realisation of how stupid I was and am. I should have picked it up from when I had gone to Jace's parents to pay my respects.
"He was watched and from what our P.I had told us. We rarely have crime this bad around here. Why was our son specifically targetted?!"
My heart started racing then and I suddenly was overwhelmed by the smell of Q's Cologne and the smell of blood. Jace had been an important person to me and I had been stupid to not notice that he had just been killed off so mercilessly. No I had been right about that one thing. I never believed a word this guy had told me:
Don't get frustrated. Think. What's the one thing they seem to want from you? Because I think they just want to be noticed, so let them feel noticed. You're smart, you know what they want.
You got close to me, you knew my friends you knew my family. You killed the guy I had settled with, tolerated. Knew that Felicity and I had had a fight and proceeded to get her out of the way. Something overtook my anger, rage? Wrath? My hands balled on his chest and I pushed him back. I was done being nice. I was disgusted. I was going to kill him.
"You! You motherfucker!" I shouted as I pushed him to the ground and held my elbow against his throat. Jenn and Tim came and noticed our ruffling and tried pulling me off him. Logic was out the window as they pulled me away I made sure to hit him over the face with my shoe.
"Venice! Stop it!" Tim shouted as he held me away from Q. Get out of my way Tim.
"It was you! Every single one of them! You're a psychopathic killer. You're a deranged retard! Fuck you!" Jenn and Tim stopped and holding me and turned to me confused. One of the lights died out and A got on his feet.
"You're confusing me with someone else. I have been with you-" Q started and I charged towards him and tackled him to the ground and punched him on the nose and jaw. It hurt like hell. But I didn't care, it couldn't compensate all the people he took from me.
"The papers, the drawings, how you always knew where I was. Motherfucker's has been giving me clues it was him all along. You killed all those people for what?" I shouted and Tim started talking on his phone again. Jenn held him down as I hit him over and over again.
"Venice, you're ungrateful. I made you my world! Everything! I chose you when no one fucking wouldn't! For all I know you should be greatful." He pushed us both back and Tim went for him as car sirens started blaring in the air. He didn't try to run. Tim held him under arrest on the spot and I wanted to launch myself ahead on him and snap his neck.
"Who the hell are you?" Jenna asked as she picked up a large stick in her hand. Tim tried to stop her from approaching her at first and then stepped aside when I shut him up. "You're a disgusting monster. You're a sick human being. Die!" She swung the stick towards him and missed and he took a hold of it and hit her with more force she was using causing her to collapse.
"Jenn!" I went to her side and the flashlight we had was deaming. Red and blue light became more visible and men shouting through the forest. My whole world became this empty cold place, this empty cold Forest. I trusted someone, I let them in. I let my friends and family get involved.
The police officers, around seven of them came towards us. Two went for Q and held him to the ground as they cuffed him and put him under arrest. Jenn was taken to the paramedics right outside the outskirts of the forest and Tim held me in his arms. I cried now. I couldn't be strong over this anymore. And the monster had the audacity to look at me in the eye and look like he regretted everything. I hope you rot and die.
