The wolf lunged.
I barely had time to move before Celeste shifted beside me, her sky-blue eyes flashing. In a blur of black fur and claws, she launched herself at it. The sound of tearing flesh and snarls filled the air. George backed up beside me, his stance wary—but even he looked shaken.
Another rogue burst from the trees.
Then a third.
Then a fourth.
"Shit," George growled. "They're not part of the game. Luna, run!"
He nudged me backward and stood in front of me, growling at the approaching threats.
These weren't trainees.
They were real.
Rogues.
And they were going for the kill.
Wait—where was Lilith?
Four rogue wolves stood in front of us. Lilith was missing. George was still practically a child. And I was scared shitless.
"I'm not leaving you!" I shouted, grabbing one of the real stun guns Damon had given me for the game. I knew how to use it. I'd trained all week. I could do this.
