"She did not!" Meadow gasps as she runs the brush through my hair, and I giggle as I stare at her stunned expression through the mirror in front of us.
"Yes, she did! Then she acted like she wasn't the one who taught me the wrong spell. It was chaotic!" I continue my story about Liriel while picking my words carefully.
Veylira is right on my bed, watching us and listening to everything I'm saying.
If I mistakenly mention how Kealith nearly strangled me to death, or the punishment I had to face for messing up that ritual, all hell will break loose.
"Oh, I can't believe you met such a witch in just a few days of staying here. If I was here with you, I'd put the slimy fish in her place!" Meadow exclaims as she keeps brushing my hair with a pout, and I laugh.
