The lights in the basement were dim, flickering like they could burn out anytime soon.
Chloe groaned as she blinked her eyes open, her head pounding with each beat of her pulse.
Her vision blurred. Her lips throbbed. She tasted blood on her tongue. She must have bitten it during the struggle.
Then it hit her — she had been taken.
