"Yin, Index has retreated eastward." Kamikaze Hoori leaned on her long blade, blood dripping from her side as she forced herself to stand. "Both enemies are Saints. Take the others and go. I'll hold them off."

Though her injuries were grave, her eyes held no hint of surrender.

Just like the meaning behind her Divine Name—so long as someone needs saving, the Divine Flame's sword shall not falter.

"…Shinri Hoori." Shen He's voice was low. After a pause, she raised her voice sharply.

"What—"

Whack—!

Shen He's sword struck Kamikaze Hoori's head—not heavily, but enough to make her reel slightly. The Saint's battered body staggered under the impact.

"If you want to act like a royal sister, try acting more mature." Shen He held her blade with a cold sneer. "It's fine when Mikoto plays tough—she can afford it. But you? You're this hurt, and you still insist on dragging yourself to the frontlines. And don't even start with that tired martyr complex—'I'm stronger, so let me protect you.' That's not noble. That's arrogance."

Kamikaze Hoori froze.

She had always been like this—ever since she left the Amakusa-style cult. She couldn't bear to see weak companions get hurt, so she fought alone.

But was that desire to protect…actually just her pride?

"I already said we'd fight together," Misaka Mikoto muttered bitterly. "Why do I always get dragged into other people's drama…"

"In short—" Shen He turned to the battlefield, locking eyes with the furious Saint whose power could rival even Accelerator.

"If we've made you think that Chaldea needs your protection, we've failed you. This war—is ours!"

Three Intermediate Enhancement Cards shot out from Shen He's fingers, glowing with circuitry.

Qi Mu had already used a Basic Enhancement earlier—he couldn't stack buffs again.

One card went to Ryougi Shiki.

One to Jeanne, who was just arriving.

The last? Not Violet—but Shen He herself.

Simple reason—every team needs a tank, and Shen He's level was ten above Violet's.

"Ahhh—!"

A stifled groan escaped beneath Shen He's white mask—not from leveling up, but from the chaotic fusion of Teigu and evil spirit energy!

The enhancement catapulted Shen He to Level 40. No time to adapt. The black Teigu armor that formed clung tightly to her skin, corroding the remnants of her clothes. Bone spikes jutted from her joints, dark scales spread over her arms and shoulders. Behind her, a monstrous phantom resembling an ancient draconic beast roared into existence.

A Level 72 warrior, now paired with a high-tier cursed Teigu and supernatural corruption!

Shen He stepped forward—and the concrete shattered underfoot. Her raw might surged, as if the very earth beneath her could collapse.

Even Kanzaki Kaori was left speechless.

Not just Shen He—Ryougi beside her now radiated a honed sword aura so sharp that glancing at it made her eyes sting.

Words were pointless. Only battle lust filled the air.

Shen He crouched with her spear drawn, adopting a flawless triple-jump stance. Then—boom!—the ground erupted beneath her as she launched into the sky with an explosive shockwave. Ryougi tapped her toes delicately, following like a graceful butterfly dancer.

Behind them, Kamikaze Hoori gritted her teeth. Despite her injuries, she tried to charge again—but a hand stopped her.

"This healing move is one-time only," Qi Mu Nanxiong said calmly, palm extended.

Psychic power surged.

Time Rewind.

A miracle unfolded. Hoori's wounds sealed, her shredded outfit restored, even her dislodged hairpins returned. It was as if the vicious battle earlier had never happened.

"…Thank you."

For the first time, Kamikaze Hoori felt she had comrades who could carry her—people she could trust to protect her instead.

Together with Qi Mu and Mikoto—who leapt from rooftop to rooftop seeking sniping positions—she charged once more.

By now, Shen He had already pierced into the massive celestial magic array.

The next moment, a barrage of magical attacks enveloped her. Lunar-blue light flooded every direction.

Since ancient times, magi have drawn power from the moon. The water mage now turned that heritage to its apex—his hydromancy flowed like molten silver, graceful and deadly.

But Shen He didn't dodge.

A tank doesn't avoid—a tank breaks through.

With a roar, her massive spear cleaved forward. Wind and water blasted aside with metallic shrieks as the weapon moved.

Above, the suspended magic circle split the battlefield into two realms. On one side, the refined power of the enemy—sharp, mystical, precise. On the other, Shen He—raw, overwhelming, relentless. Slowly, their opposing forces split the heavens themselves, pushing toward victory.

For the first time, the serene expression of the water mage faltered.

His Divine Name spoke of "turning cold tears warm"—of salvation and control. But Shen He's fury burned bright and mad, yet still focused. Not consumed like the wind-element Saints before.

Yet the water mage's face now twisted in madness.

The pressure of defeat ignited something inside him. A Saint and knight trained to win—he now gripped his steel staff tighter, wild with battle-lust.

And he rushed at Shen He—who now resembled a horned demon, soaked in spiritual corrosion.

"He's coming!" Shen He's pupils contracted.

These last few days, she had trained only one spear move.

Thrust.

No fancy techniques. No secret arts. Just the most basic and essential motion of spear combat—where power begins at the feet, flows through the hips and shoulders, and explodes from the arms into a single pinpoint attack.

A glint of silver.

The spear struck, like a dragon's fang shooting from the void.

For some reason, Shen He thought of that phrase—

"The gun comes like a dragon."

BOOM—!

The tremendous force shook her wrist.

Her strongest thrust—blocked.

The water mage met it head-on with his steel staff. Their clash triggered a singularity—a microcosmic detonation. Both fighters were hurled backward.

But Shen He had backup.

Ryougi Shiki caught Shen He mid-air, her palms gripping his wrists. The two spun together like gears, redirecting momentum. With a burst of force, Ryougi launched Shen He even higher—straight toward the water mage, who had barely regained footing.

Meanwhile, Qi Mu Nanxiong and Kamikaze Hoori arrived just behind them, their aura surging.
