Chapter 55
There was a flash of red light, and we all reappeared in the middle of a cobblestone street beneath the shadow of the Merchant's Court. A group of Lisari civilians stood nearby, staring at us in confusion—six soot-covered, bleeding figures who had turned up from thin air.
"Thanks," I said curtly to the teleporting woman before giving Luna a nod.
Without hesitation, Luna lifted the blunt end of her bow and brought it down on the side of Auria's head with blunt force. The woman crumpled to the ground in an instant.
I turned my gaze upward towards the place we'd escaped. The Merchant's Court, once a proud and towering symbol of Lisari power and wealth, was crumbling.
Its columns shuddered, snapped, and vanished into a storm of dust. Walls folded in on themselves and windows shattered as the entire structure collapsed. In seconds, the grand building was in ruins. Nothing remained but piles of stone and glass.
