Vorrak, who was now tucked in the crook of my arm, whispered urgently, "He's not at full power yet, which means neither is the trident. It's still unsealing itself. We've got time."
"I don't know, man. He seems pretty damn powerful to me." I pointed out.
Donald's body had been completely overtaken by crackling lightning, and his eyes glowed like twin thunderbolts.
Before Vorrak could retort, a lightning bolt charged through the air toward me. I dove sideways, barely managing to land behind a chunk of the collapsed stone pillar. My magic pouch slipped from my grip and skidded away, but I held tightly onto Vorrak.
Someone else was already crouched behind the pillar. It was Laine, staying true to his nature. He blinked at me, clearly annoyed.
"Get your own hiding spot. This one's taken."
I didn't bother answering. Another lightning bolt struck the pillar we were hiding behind, vaporizing it into a cloud of ashes and dust.
