"Did I lose them?" Mia wondered out loud as she rummaged through her purse. She was standing in the parking lot of the building where she was living with Lucas while looking for the medicines that she had purchased for her father. That batch had taken a chunk out of her savings, and she truly could not lose them.
Her brows creased with worry. If she lost the medicines, where would she get the money to buy new ones? She still had an entire month in front of her before she could get her salary. As she rummaged through her purse and her truck, Mia couldn't help but curse. Don't tell her that she forgot the package at the restaurant.
Sighing, she turned the flashlight on her phone at the backseat, hoping to see the familiar plastic bag. It was darker than she had anticipated, and Mia didn't like to stay in the dark. It was where she was the most vulnerable.
