Eira and William were sitting on the cold floor of the secret room, leaning on the stone wall. Silence stood between them, fraught with anxiety.
William looked up, his voice low. "When are we coming out?"
Eira sighed and crossed her arms over her knees. 'Well, I don't know... I'm much more worried about Aclaric."
While they were speaking, the hidden door creaked and opened, and a knight stepped in carrying a small tray of food. His armor seemed the most scratched and antiquated, just like his expression.
"Try not to worry," whispered the knight softly while he slowly took the tray from his grasp. Things outside are difficult. The knights are doing everything they can."
Eira jumped to her feet. "What about Aclaric? Is he safe?"
The knight nodded slightly. "He's fine—for now. But he sent me to tell you both something."
William leaned in, his eyes tense with hope. "What is it?"
