The small wooden dining table looked full, not because of the abundance of food—although Lys and Lira's roasted vegetables and mushroom soup were truly delicious—but because of the endless laughter.
The four of us sat together. Me between Lira and Lys, and Lucen directly opposite with a half-amused, half-resigned expression as he faced his over-enthusiastic younger sisters.
"Big bro, tell us," Lys prodded with her spoon. "How did you go bald?"
"I'm curious too!" Lira chimed in, staring intently. "Were you trying to be a monk?"
Lucen sighed as he set down his bowl. "I wasn't bald for reason. My hair just… temporarily fell out."
"Temporarily? Or did someone play a prank?" Lira whispered, leaning toward me. "Lucen is terrible at lying or hiding anything."
I let out a small laugh. "Maybe both."
Lucen glanced at me but didn't deny it.
"And now your hair is growing back~" Lys teased.
