Aeglos—that bastard cat god—was still stroking his balls with a deep sigh, sitting sideways on a cloud as if he'd just recovered from the trauma of war.
I crossed my arms, eyeing the cat god with an unamused expression.
"So humans are weak, easy to manipulate, huh?" I muttered sarcastically. "And now this weak little creature is supposed to help save a world that's not even hers. Ironic, isn't it?"
Aeglos lowered his head slightly. Maybe out of guilt. Maybe out of fear of getting tortured again. Either way, he stayed silent for a moment.
I continued, "But don't forget one thing."
"What?"
"Compensation," I said sharply.
Aeglos snorted and licked his paw like a regular cat. "Of course... compensation. You already have incredible magic, absurd power, and—"
"And I have no money," I cut in quickly. "No home. No possessions. So I want compensation in the form of… wealth. A lot. In massive amounts. Gold. Gems. Land. Anything."
He stopped licking. "Wealth? How materialistic."
