Ella had never thought that she was the girl who would want flowers. Get her food, maybe?
But as she glanced at the sea of tulips in the room, the undeniable flutter in her chest told her that she liked flowers too. She just hadn't received one to know whether she liked them or not.
When her gaze passed by the bedside table, she spotted a delicately wrapped box of chocolates. She picked up the box, instantly recognizing the diet-friendly chocolates, just like the time before.
Just as she put the box down, a voice broke the silence. Low and familiar.
"You don't like them?"
Ella turned on her heels, her heart skipping a beat when she spotted Adrian sitting on the couch.
He closed his laptop and pushed himself to his feet.
Ella schooled her expression and flashed a harmless smile. "They're beautiful, baby. But next time, just a few will do..."
"Why?" Adrian stepped forward, closing the space between them.
