"Blind fire in the direction of the enemy's advance—release!"

On the city wall, a cold and alluring female Snake-People suddenly appeared. Her graceful figure radiated an icy charm, and fury burned in her beautiful eyes. Staring at the blurred black streak in the sky, she gave a cold, commanding shout.

As soon as her order rang out, hundreds of fully armed Snake-People on the wall responded in unison with a loud roar.

They first leaned backward, arching their waists as they raised their spears.

Then, in a sudden forward thrust, the long spears coated in venom shot into the air. The sharp sound of them tearing through the air echoed across the silent night sky.

From countless arrow towers, javelin-like arrows were also launched almost simultaneously.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Boom!

The space seemed to boil and explode in midair.

A dense storm of spears and arrows rained down like a deluge, blotting out the sky.

The sheer density made it impossible to evade!

"Damned humans, how dare you barge into the stronghold of my Snake-People! Do you really think the Mei Snake Tribe is that easy to bully?" The female Snake-People, clearly of high rank, stared coldly at the sky, a chilling smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

She could tell that there were two humans attempting to break through.

One of them she couldn't sense clearly, but the other she could—just a mere Two-Star Dou Shi!

The one whose strength was obscured had to be powerful—if even she, a Dou Ling, couldn't discern it, then at minimum that person was a Dou Wang. But so what?

Dragging along a Two-Star Dou Shi, and flying in the air no less—she didn't believe they could break through such an overwhelming barrage without a scratch.

Her eyes narrowed slightly. After quickly predicting their path, she too hurled a spear with a vicious swing of her arm.

The spear shrieked through the air like a screeching hawk, its tip aimed straight at the Two-Star Dou Shi.

Her red lips curled into a bloody arc, as if awaiting a bloody feast to bloom in the sky.

At the very least, that Two-Star Dou Shi—under such a sweeping assault—had only one fate: instant obliteration.

"Brother Wei!" Xiao Yan felt the hair on his body stand on end.

"Stay calm. Don't panic," Wei Yang said with a light laugh.

Under the watchful eyes of countless Snake-People below...

The black streak in the sky didn't dodge or retreat. Instead, it rushed head-on into the storm of arrows.

Xiao Yan's eyes widened in horror, a chill shooting up from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.

A spear, radiating immense power, screamed through the sky, and its target—was him!

Finally, Wei Yang slowed. His figure paused slightly. He raised his right hand gently, and from his wide sleeve emerged a fair, slender hand. Moving slowly, it pressed lightly toward the oncoming rain of arrows.

In that instant, a massive lion's head made of black flames appeared before Wei Yang's palm, suspended in midair. A powerful aura surged outward, blanketing the night sky.

Then, the lion's mouth suddenly opened wide.

Buzz!

Like a deafening silence.

Without a sound, a wave of invisible sonic energy rippled outward through the night.

Where it passed, even space twisted—rippling like disturbed water.

The countless arrows in the sky were instantly swept by the soundwave and turned to dust—without exception.

Below, the Snake-People were dumbstruck. Their jaws dropped, and their eyes bulged with terror as they watched this eerie, soundless scene unfold.

In that moment, even the flow of time seemed to slow.

Then—

ROAR—!

A thunderous lion's roar shattered the silence, reverberating through the night sky like muffled thunder exploding beside the ears. The city wall below trembled slightly under the force.

The Snake-People instinctively covered their ears. Blood poured from their eyes, ears, noses, and mouths. Their expressions were terrifying.

Mouths agape, they tried to scream in agony, but their cries were drowned in the deafening lion's roar.

They looked like silent wailing statues, locked in soundless anguish.

Inside the storage ring—

Yao Lao's eyes suddenly snapped open, his aged face full of shock.

He had been silently observing everything outside.

Now, seeing Wei Yang's attack—or rather, that black flame—his expression changed drastically.

"This feeling… there's no mistake. That black flame… it's an Heavenly Flame!" Yao Lao exclaimed in disbelief.

Soon, he frowned again. "But a black flame, so scorching hot—what kind of Heavenly Flame is this?"

"Black flame… black flame… Nihility Devouring Flame? Impossible!" he quickly shook his head.

"Nine Serene Wind Flame? No, not that either!"

"Then what is it…?"

The black streak of light soared past the city wall, vanishing into the horizon in an instant, disappearing into the darkness of the night.

"On account of Medusa, I won't hold this against you. I'll spare your lives today—this ends here. No need to see me off."

A voice drifted over from the distance.

In place of the battle, only a scene of utter ruin remained.

Countless collapsed arrow towers, towering city walls now veined with cracks, and Snake-People lying on the ground, howling in pain with blood streaming from their seven orifices.

In their ears, there was still nothing but a persistent ringing. Aside from that, they could hear nothing at all.

And yet, that light and distant voice had strangely echoed clearly inside their minds.

"Damn it… Who the hell was that? Which human Dou Huang would dare do this?!"

The cold and elegant female Snake-People struggled to her feet, her face disheveled and filled with fear.

Just now, in that single instant, she had nearly smelled the scent of death.

At that moment—

BOOM!

From the distance, at the heart of the tribe, a powerful aura erupted into the sky.

A curvaceous and fiery figure shot into the air.

With her Dou Qi wings flaring out behind her, she turned to face the direction of the commotion. Then, with a flick of her turquoise snake tail, she darted through the air like lightning.

In no time, she arrived at the city wall, descending swiftly.

Her eyes swept across the scene. Upon witnessing the devastation, rage and shock filled her gaze as she barked,

"What happened here?!"

"Commander!"

The other Snake-People were still groaning and writhing on the ground, but the cold female Snake-People managed to rise while enduring her injuries, and gave a shaky salute.

"Speak!"

The newcomer's voice was sharp with both fury and disbelief.

"It's like this…"

The cold female Snake-People quickly began to explain the situation.

Meanwhile, the chaos had already alerted the entire fortress below.

"Quick!"

"We're under attack!"

The other Snake-People warriors and forces within the stronghold sprang into action, rushing toward the scene.

"Damn it!"

Having heard the full account, the female Snake-People commander's beautiful eyes burned with fury and confusion. She glared in the direction where the enemy had vanished, and with a clenched fist, she smashed it into the city wall's battlement.

Bang!

Cracks spidered outward from the impact, sending the nearby Snake-People scrambling back in fear, not daring to make a sound.

"Clean up the battlefield. Repair the walls. Tend to the wounded!"

"Immediately send word to all nearby Snake-People tribes. Also notify the leaders of the other seven great tribes—tell them to dispatch their strongest warriors and troops at once. We must hunt those two despicable humans down in the desert and kill them!"

Orders flowed from her mouth one after another.

The female Snake-People commander gazed into the pitch-black night sky. Her cold voice was steeped in killing intent.

"Even a Dou Huang—if they dare trespass on the territory of Snake-People Clan—must die!"

"Yes!"

The many Snake-People responded with reverence and obedience.

"I'll go inform Her Majesty the Queen myself!"

With that, the female Snake-People commander's body flickered. Her turquoise snake tail lashed outward, and her figure vanished into the darkness.
