Splash~
The sound of water echoed.
A woman with an incredibly voluptuous figure slowly emerged from the depths of the lake.
Her back was turned to Wei Yang and Xiao Yan, and she casually flicked her long, wet hair with an air of leisure.
Her damp hair clung to her snow-white shoulders and jade-like back.
Droplets of water clung to her smooth, tender skin—so delicate it seemed like it could break at a touch—before sliding down her fragrant shoulders and flawless back...
The droplets trailed along her seductively narrow waist, eventually dripping into the lake below, sending up small splashes and gentle ripples.
In that instant—
The two men froze, their bodies going stiff. Mouths slightly agape, they stared blankly at the intoxicating and sensuous scene before them.
Though there was some distance between them and the woman, it didn't hinder their vision. They could clearly see the taut curves of her waist and how supple and flexible it was.
One could hardly imagine what sort of breathtaking arcs that flexible waist might make… on a bed!
The woman lifted her slender hand and casually swept back her wet hair, then slowly turned around.
And in that moment—an even more overwhelming visual impact came crashing in, flooding their eyes.
So dazzlingly white it almost hurt to look at, causing hearts to race and blood to boil.
That high, perfect curve standing tall!
The sight nearly made the two inexperienced young men shoot nosebleeds on the spot.
Almost simultaneously, the two of them subconsciously began to compare.
They came to a conclusion:
In terms of figure, charm, and seductive allure, among all the women they had met, perhaps only Ya Fei from the auction house in Wu Tan City could even come close to matching the woman before them.
No wonder she was a Snake-Person!
Gulp~
Looking at the enchanting female Snake-People, both of their throats involuntarily moved as they swallowed hard.
Through the clear lake water, they could faintly see a long, green snake tail swaying gently beneath the surface, radiating a wild and primal allure.
Xiao Yan's breathing grew heavier, his face flushing red.
Wei Yang discreetly reached out and pinched Xiao Yan's arm.
The slight pain helped Xiao Yan regain a bit of clarity.
Wei Yang shot him a warning glance, signaling him to stay quiet.
Then, the two exchanged a look—both their eyes held a subtle gleam, and they shared a knowing smile at the corners of their mouths.
Their gazes returned to the lake, watching intently, relishing every moment.
On Xiao Yan's finger, a subtle fluctuation arose within his storage ring.
Silently and without a sound, a transparent eyeball slowly emerged and gently bulged outward...
The bright moon hung high in the sky.
Moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silver beams that painted dappled patterns across the forest floor.
Wei Yang and Xiao Yan sat cross-legged facing each other in silence, meditating to calm their minds.
After a long while—
Whoosh~
They both opened their eyes at nearly the same time and let out a slow exhale of turbid air.
They looked at each other and broke into wide, cheeky grins—two rows of bright white teeth standing out starkly in the darkness.
A rather stimulating academic "observation" had ended, leaving them both satisfied and somewhat nostalgic.
"That should be the leader of the Mei Snake Tribe, Yue Mei," Wei Yang said with a chuckle.
"Mhm." Xiao Yan nodded.
He had heard of Yue Mei's name before—a well-known Dou Wang expert among the Snake-People.
Wei Yang stood up, stretching lazily. "It's getting late. Time to move."
"We'll sneak past quietly under the cover of night. I'll mask your aura. Combined with the darkness and my speed, we should be able to pass unnoticed."
"Alright." Xiao Yan stood as well, stretching his limbs a bit.
Wei Yang pulled up his cloak to cover his head, while Xiao Yan also took out a large black robe and draped it over himself, pulling up the hood to fully conceal his figure.
"Let's go."
Wei Yang grabbed Xiao Yan. With a sudden flicker of movement, the two figures vanished from the spot.
A faint blur of black streaked swiftly across the night sky.
Under the pale moonlight, that shadowy streak glided silently, so swift and discreet that it would be nearly impossible to spot without focused attention.
Before long—
A massive tribal fortress slowly came into view on the distant horizon.
As they drew nearer—
The fortress was lit brightly, with many Snake-People guards clearly visible, weapons in hand as they patrolled back and forth with vigilance.
The fortress was tightly guarded.
With another flash, the black streak of light arrived above the fortress.
Looking down, what came into view was a massive, nearly endless super-sized fortress.
Atop the towering walls—each several dozen meters high—stood rows upon rows of arrow towers, densely packed. Spears-like arrows were lined up in neat rows, their pale-purple tips protruding from the towers, glinting with a cold, chilling sheen under the moonlight.
Seeing such an impenetrable defense, like a celestial net cast across heaven and earth, Xiao Yan couldn't help but wipe a cold sweat from his forehead.
He silently complained in his heart: with defenses like these, even a Da Dou Shi, or perhaps even a Dou Ling, could be shot full of holes in mere moments if they weren't careful!
And he was just a Dou Shi—how could he possibly get through?
However, though the fortress's defense was extremely strict, it was practically nonexistent in the eyes of Wei Yang.
The black stream of light only paused briefly before continuing its rapid advance.
Flying in silently from high above, they passed through the defenses without a sound, heading for the far side of the fortress.
As they flew through the night sky, overlooking the fortress from above, they could once again feel its vastness.
In terms of area, even Black Rock City, one of the top ten largest cities in the Jia Ma Empire, couldn't compare to the fortress below.
"The Eight Great Tribes… truly the strongest power among the Snake-People Clan," Wei Yang and Xiao Yan couldn't help but sigh as they sped through the sky.
Ten minutes later—
"We're about to exit the fortress perimeter."
In the distance ahead, a tall and majestic city wall stood firmly at the edge of their vision.
Atop the wall, several hundred fully armored Snake-People held long, sharp spears and patrolled the area.
Hm?
Wei Yang suddenly raised an eyebrow, then sighed helplessly. "We've been exposed."
Bringing someone along really was troublesome.
"What?!" Xiao Yan exclaimed in surprise.
Just then—
Awwoooo!
A strange howl—part wolf, part fox—suddenly echoed through the night.
Xiao Yan's face immediately changed.
Wei Yang shook his head slightly. In a moment of carelessness, he had forgotten to watch the skies.
Their eyes followed the direction of the sound, and they spotted a large, pitch-black, strange bird circling above not far away.
Clearly, this was one of the aerial alarm systems the Snake-People Clan had in place.
And with that one cry, the strange bird had alarmed the Snake-People Clan on the wall below.
Their gazes quickly turned skyward. In mere moments, someone sharp-eyed spotted the blurry streak of black light.
"There! Someone's trying to break through!"
"Alarm!"
"Alarm!"
"Enemy in the sky! Javelin units prepare—apply poison! Arrow towers ready to fire!"
With the blaring of the alarm, the Snake-People guards initially panicked slightly but quickly regained composure, entering attack formation with remarkable speed.
Following their leader's command, they swiftly smeared the poison from their waist flasks onto the tips of their javelins.
Creak-creak—
On the arrow towers, the sound of winding winches rang out as the massive spear-like arrows locked onto Wei Yang and Xiao Yan.
"Bro Wei!" Xiao Yan felt numb from the hundreds of murderous glares and the countless arrows and javelins aimed at them. His scalp tingled as he turned to Wei Yang. "What now?!"
"Nothing special—just run for it," Wei Yang replied casually. His speed didn't slow—in fact, he suddenly surged forward, grabbing Xiao Yan and charging straight at the wall.
Now that they were discovered, there was no point in hiding.
Whoosh!
The black stream of light exploded in speed, becoming a streak of black lightning that tore through the night with a faint sonic boom.
The speed was so great that the Snake-People below were left dumbfounded—barely able to perceive it with the naked eye, let alone lock on and attack.
The powerful acceleration forced Xiao Yan—who had just opened his mouth—to shut it tight again. The wind was so fierce it distorted his face, making him lower his head to brace against it.
The wide fortress wall was already just up ahead—and in a blink, they would cross it.
