The silence stretched on uncomfortably long, giving Jihoon enough time to second-guess himself and withdraw his question. Even if he wasn't entirely sober, he could still understand the social cues and read the room.
"Forget about what I just-"
"Do you want to know?"
Ryul's low voice cut in before Jihoon could finish, veiled eyes staring directly at him.
A gulp escaped, but the youth still nodded his head. "It's just that… I didn't know much about you."
The man let out a laugh when he heard the response. But instead of immediately responding, he gently adjusted Jihoon's posture, easing his head sideways against the back of the sofa to help him settle more comfortably.
Then, withdrawing from the touch, he inched back a little to come face-to-face with Jihoon, putting some space between them.
"Where do you want me to start? How I met my ex-wife?"
Jihoon pressed his lips together in thought. "I just want to know more than Mr. Lee does."
