Chapter 105 - The Second Godzilla

In the heart of the mountain range, the new Godzilla emerged.

At that same moment, Godzilla-Earth, storing energy in its dormant state, slowly opened its eyes and felt a stirring in its consciousness.

A brand new existence, distinct from all other sentient beings, was being born. Its presence surpassed all creatures on the ground, subtly transcending the food web Godzilla had established within the ecosystem.

───「 GODZILLA POV 」───

Though it transcended the food web, this new entity retained the basic characteristics of the ecosystem. Within its distributed consciousness flickered a gentle affection and protective instinct toward the other lifeforms sharing its environment.

Exceeding the food chain while possessing love and stewardship for the local ecosystem...

Wasn't this the definition of a Titan?

Had Titans truly emerged from the offspring created on the first day?

Godzilla knew this evolution might give rise to Titans—the mission clearly stated the possibility of their emergence within the ecosystem.

But it had expected this process to take much longer.

It assumed it would need to wait years—at least one or two cycles of evolution for all life—before Titans would appear.

Yet unexpectedly, it happened now.

On this first night, a Titan was born from its ecosystem through basic evolution.

This was truly unforeseen.

But it was a positive development.

Lying on Australia's coast, Godzilla opened its eyes and gazed toward the presence that was causing ripples in its consciousness.

It wanted to see this being, almost like its true child.

What did the first Titan of its ecosystem look like?

Godzilla looked across the distance...

And then it saw...

Another version of itself?

On the far side of the mountains stood another Godzilla.

Was this its first Titan? A mirror image of itself?

No, it couldn't be considered identical.

Upon closer examination, significant differences became apparent between this new entity and Godzilla-Earth.

The newcomer's eyes lacked pupils and weren't blue like Godzilla's, but instead glowed with pure white luminescence.

Its head, compared to Godzilla-Earth's, resembled a fusion of feline and crocodilian features.

Its body was considerably more slender than Godzilla's, even at comparable height.

Yet slender didn't equate to weakness; judging by the proportions of its body and limbs, this new Godzilla would likely possess remarkable agility.

The white eyes bestowed upon this newly born entity an aura of majesty, while subtly emphasizing something not-quite-living about its essence.

From this perspective, numerous differences separated it from Godzilla-Earth. It could only be considered convergent evolution—not an exact replication.

Godzilla felt satisfaction regarding the appearance of its first significant offspring.

It would have been preferable if the new entity looked more distinctly alive.

The fierce head structure and pure white eyes made it appear less like a living creature and more like some form of undead entity.

Although in reality, that was precisely what it was—though Godzilla remained unaware of this fact.

The brand-new Godzilla was indeed composed of the "undead."

Standing tall upon the hills with a body rivaling a normal Titan, its dorsal plates radiated brilliant light under the white glow that enveloped the forest.

This being had evolved from the final thoughts and physical remains of deceased creatures within the forest, merged into a unified whole.

Although its current size and combat capabilities were vastly inferior to today's Godzilla-Earth...

It was nonetheless the first guardian born of this ecosystem and possessed limitless potential.

This is my child, born of my ecosystem.

Godzilla-Earth observed the newly born second generation, and the second generation sensed its gaze, returning the look.

They maintained this silent exchange for some time.

Then Godzilla released a low, rumbling roar, calling it closer through consciousness communication, wanting to examine this child more thoroughly.

But from the distance, the new entity shook its head. It didn't wish to disturb the quiet forest. It transmitted electromagnetic waves to Godzilla, conveying its thoughts directly into Godzilla's mind.

"Mother... I don't want to disturb them."

The first sentence was a whispered blessing from a newborn child to its natural parent, Godzilla, who had nurtured its creation.

Hmm, truly a gentle child.

Then the second message followed.

"And Mother, when can we go together to destroy all humans? I can't wait anymore!"

Godzilla: ?

...

In ancient times, nature had mimicked Godzilla's evolutionary process, applying Godzilla's template to certain creatures to make them extraordinarily powerful. This enabled them to perform ecological activities that nature found difficult to regulate independently.

For example, suppressing volcanic eruptions, breaking apart massive rocks to prevent catastrophic landslides, converting thermal energy inaccessible to ordinary creatures into the Titans' internal energy—which was then excreted in forms the ecosystem could absorb.

In those days, Titans served as nature's regulators.

The purpose of today's Titans was to become guardians of this natural order and to vanquish all enemies when Godzilla departed.

The newly born Godzilla Titan was intended to be a protector of the ecosystem, not an aggressive attacker. But... this white-eyed Godzilla was different.

Because those white eyes belonged to a Titan transformed from the collective consciousness of the undead.

Among those undead were many creatures transformed by human cells—organisms that had been released, engineered, and subsequently killed by humans after being infected with Godzilla cells.

These creatures had quickly perished again after transforming within the new ecosystem, harboring resentment toward the environment that had so quickly extinguished them once more.

But under the white light's influence, they were resurrected and unified, and any animosity toward the current ecosystem naturally dissipated.

Being restored to life after death and even ascending to Titan status should have satisfied any grievances they held.

So they harbored no ill will toward Godzilla; instead, they overflowed with gratitude. But humans...

Before, I had no power, no strength, and you humans manipulated me at will.

Now?

Shall I open the door for you? If you won't open it, I'll help you, how about that?

That was likely their mindset—a perspective born from deep resentment toward humanity. Their bitterness might even exceed Godzilla's own.

This was no precious, innocent child harboring affection for humans.

But now was not the time to initiate conflict with humanity, especially when practical considerations made it unfeasible. So, after Godzilla imparted to the newborn Second Generation knowledge of what Ghidorah was and what the Ghidorah's Wings represented, it decided their first priority must be defending their home before confronting humanity.

And so, a new Titan was born within Godzilla's ecosystem. It, alongside Godzilla, would soon face the arrival of the Ghidorah's Wings in two days' time.

[Two days until the arrival of the Ghidorah's Wings]

[Remaining number of Ghidorah's Wings: 71]

The war was about to begin.
