Chapter 309 - Chapter 310: The True Savior, George

Chapter 310: The True Savior, George

"How is that possible?"

Watching the frost giants fall in waves, Loki also gasped in shock.

He hadn't expected that Kur, who had been defeated and sealed by Odin in Midgard for so many years, would still be this powerful.

If the fight continued like this, even if all the frost giant warriors joined in, they still wouldn't be a match for Kur.

"Loki, have your frost giants deal with the corrupted mortals and the Hammer Elders first. Once they're dealt with, we'll face Kur together!"

Thor burst forth with lightning again, repelling two Hammer Elders, and shouted toward Loki.

Upon hearing this, Loki gritted his teeth.

"I already thought of that, I don't need you to remind me!"

Although he didn't want to follow Thor's strategy, it was the only option if he didn't want to retreat in disgrace back to Jotunheim.

But this was far from the glorious scene he had envisioned.

With a wave of his hand, he called back the frost giants who were throwing themselves to their deaths trying to gang up on Kur. He sent them to assist the forces of Asgard, while he and the enchantress Lorelei charged toward Thor.

"Leave this to us. You go deal with Kur."

Originally, he had intended for the frost giant soldiers to gang up on Kur while he and Lorelei would ambush him when distracted and take the kill.

But Kur was absurdly strong, forcing a change in strategy—let Thor take the lead.

Even though he doubted Thor could defeat Kur, if his thick-skinned brother could wear him down or even injure him, it would create an opportunity.

If the gap was truly too great, then there was no choice but to retreat to Jotunheim.

He wasn't as foolish as Thor to risk everything for a few mortals.

"For the glory of Asgard!"

Seeing Loki and Lorelei use illusions and hypnosis to temporarily hold off two Hammer Elders, Thor wasted no time, swinging his hammer with a roar as he launched another attack toward Kur.

"Just you?"

As the battle raged on, Kur absorbed more and more fear, growing even stronger.

When he saw Thor swinging his hammer toward him, he didn't even use his great axe. Calmly, he reached out with his left hand and caught the hammer barehanded.

A disdainful smile appeared on his face. With a squeeze, he directly crushed Mjölnir.

"How is that possible?"

Watching Mjölnir get crushed barehanded, Thor's expression changed drastically—his eyes filled with disbelief.

[TL: sauron05]

At that moment, Kur kicked Thor over and stomped him to the ground.

"You're too weak. Even with your sister's hammer, you can't bring out its power.

Strange… why didn't Odin send Hela?"

"Retreat!"

Seeing this, Loki didn't hesitate and immediately disengaged from the battle, intending to lead the frost giants back to Jotunheim. This wasn't a battle they could win.

Staying meant certain death.

"Super Magic: Fairy Law!"

But just as he shouted to retreat, a massive magic circle suddenly appeared in the sky.

A pillar of light descended from the heavens, enveloping everyone on the battlefield.

After the white light faded, all the mutated Hydra soldiers fell to the ground instantly, and the eight Hammer Elders simultaneously coughed up blood, clearly heavily injured.

As for Kur, he had already moved off of Thor and wrapped himself in divine power, shouting warily toward the sky:

"Who's there?"

"You may call me George."

George, wrapped in a sacred white light and fluttering a pair of wings, slowly descended while releasing Wolverine, Captain America, and other teachers from the school.

When he saw Kur crush Mjölnir barehanded earlier, he knew he couldn't wait any longer.

If this continued, Kur's power would become too overwhelming.

So he opened with a large-scale ultimate attack—Fairy Law.

The spell only targets those the caster considers enemies, so although Thor and the others were within the range, they remained unharmed.

More importantly, it created a powerful psychological effect, greatly boosting morale.

Instantly wiping out all the minor enemies, injuring all eight Hammer Elders, and bringing reinforcements—this display not only lifted the spirits of the desperate on the battlefield but also made viewers watching on TV cheer.

With that, fear in their hearts naturally diminished.

Since Kur's power was fueled by fear, as fear diminished, so would his strength.

Now George radiated holy light, looking even more like a god than Thor or Loki—which was exactly the point.

He wasn't the type to show off, but in this situation, putting on a divine act was necessary.

"George!"

Sure enough, when everyone saw George appear with Cap and the others, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

The true savior had arrived!

"This guy is getting scarier by the minute."

Seeing George again, Loki recalled the beating he had suffered before and instinctively backed up behind Lorelei.

"Restore to original!"

He raised his hand and cast a repair spell on the shattered Mjölnir. Time flowed backward, and the broken hammer swiftly reassembled—restoring itself to its previous pristine state in the blink of an eye.

"You all deal with those eight—this one's mine."

"Be careful, George. His power is terrifying!"

Thor nodded, hefted Mjölnir, and joined the others in surrounding the eight Hammer Elders.

Kur's gaze darkened as he looked at George.

"A mystic sorcerer from Midgard?

Tell your Supreme One, Agamotto, I don't actually intend to destroy humanity. I only want to gather power and return to Asgard.

This is Asgard's own business—war among the gods. You shouldn't interfere."

The mystic sorcerers of Midgard—the guardians of the Time Stone—were difficult to deal with, especially their Supreme Sorcerer, Agamotto.

Even back when his father Bor was alive, he still had to tread carefully around Agamotto.

So he truly only planned to make a scene in Washington, collect enough fear energy, and then leave. He had no intention of razing every city in Midgard.

Upon hearing this, George's eyes flickered. He didn't deny being a Kamar-Taj sorcerer but instead went along with the Agamotto line and said:

"Agamotto is no longer the Supreme Sorcerer. He is now the Grand Elder. The current Supreme Sorcerer of Kamar-Taj is the Ancient One—my master.

Your actions have already led to many human deaths. On behalf of Kamar-Taj, I am here to apprehend you.

The Grand Elder and the Supreme Sorcerer are observing this situation closely. I suggest you don't make things difficult for me."

The Ancient One had previously told him that Kur's weakness was fear. When people no longer feared him, his power would decline. When Kur himself began to feel fear, his strength would plummet.

By impersonating a Kamar-Taj sorcerer and saying these things, George's goal was to unsettle Kur.
