Valerie started gasping for air, her hands flying up to tap against Eryx's arm in panic.
"Eryx—Eryx, please—" she croaked, struggling.
Inside the car, Lunara's eyes widened. She reached for the door handle, heart pounding. "Callum! He's going to kill her!"
Callum quickly locked the door from the inside.
"Please, stay inside, Madam," he said firmly.
Lunara glared at him. "What if he strangles her?!"
Callum glanced back briefly. "Don't worry. Sir never kills."
He paused, as if reconsidering his words. Then added with a wince, "He just… leaves them breathing. Barely."
Lunara stared at him. "Oh, that's so much better."
Callum gave a light shrug. "Let's just say… people don't cross him twice."
Valerie's legs buckled slightly as she kept tapping frantically on Eryx's arm. Her face was turning red, breath shallow.
"Eryx—please…" she gasped out again.
Finally, he let go.
