Ronan's POV
My side still hurt where Zeke had stabbed me. The wound should have healed by now, but something about that black blade was different. It left a mark that wouldn't go away.
But I couldn't rest. Not when Sienna was out there somewhere. Not when the Midnight Syndicate was moving again.
"You shouldn't be up," Maya said, handing me a fresh bandage. She was one of Zeke's hybrid soldiers who had managed to escape. "That wound needs time."
"Time is the one thing we don't have," I told her, pulling on my black jacket. The pain made me wince, but I ignored it.
Three days since the attack. Three days since Sienna vanished. Three days of nothing but bad feelings and worse thoughts.
"At least take this," Maya pressed a small bottle into my hand. "Isolde made it before she... before they took her."
I nodded my thanks. The witch had been caught trying to protect Sienna. Another debt I needed to repay.
